ok ladies and gents...this is my rom off of the minixforums, so I am posting over here at the freaktab as well. I have been warmly welcomed over here by the freaktab team and I just want to say thank you guys so much for the invite!

CREDITS go out to Minix for making this stellar rom used as a base!!

You will have the option to change kernels after my rom is installed or before or whatever you want to do. As always, make a backup first cuz I'm not responsible for you losing your stuff. Read below for more info.

UPDATE (3/07/13): Most likely this weekend, after some testing of course, I will be changing the way we install the kernels for use with my roms, so look out for that!

Well without further ado...here it is folks!!

v 1.3 - removed some apps and changed a few things.  sorry...had to re-upload cuz of some errors.

v 1.4 - fixed my formatting scripts, so the system and data partitions will now be true ext4 format.  Updated some apps.  removed Grid Launcher.  fixed inverted Google Play store.

[B]v 1.5 - removed some apps, added some apps, and updated some apps.  a few build.prop edits.  added libstagefright.so from Rockchip (you will have to install advancedsettings.xml manually if you want it).

What it doesn't have in it:

Full 1080p support...see the NOTE below
5.1 Optical S/PDIF

NOTE: if you want 1080p support, you must flash the new firmware first!! Then you have to reinstall CWM and then you can flash my ROM again! Or you can use my kernel flashing zip, but you use that at your own risk. Downloads are below in post #2.

NOTE 2: Apex Launcher is the only home launcher that is installed, so if you want a different launcher, make sure you install another one FIRST before you delete Apex Launcher.

Installation instructions:
1) Copy the .zip to your X5
2) Reboot into CWM
3) Click on "Install zip from SD Card"
4) Select the .zip and wait

You no longer have to wipe, as my rom will wipe and format automatically...so still do a backup before you flash!!

XBMC:
Delete the ".txt" off of "advancedsettings.xml.txt" below to make it "advancedsettings.xml". You will need to put it in your "sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/userdata" folder using a file explorer app. Viola!! Now koying's blacklisting is disabled

page 32 of the thread will have more advancedsettings options.

NOTE: You must have installed the xbmc hw accel apk from xbmc.org and run it FIRST before you will see the "userdata" folder above!

KERNEL FLASHES:
IMPORTANT!!: PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS INSIDE FIRST BEFORE FLASHING THESE!!

These zips contain the newest CWM recovery, so it is recommended that if you are coming from Finless's rom or Jazz's rom to flash one of these FIRST and then boot into recovery and then flash my rom. Like always, there is a disclaimer...don't blame me for ish if your device catches on fire!

NOTE: These are only flashable through CWM. The lockscreen will need to be reset after each reboot! This is for JB 4.1.1_0117 only guys and I have only tested this on the 1080p kernel (though it shouldn't matter what kernel you're on), so please make a backup before flashing this...you have been warned!!

update flashing with cwm works. But one problem I have starting the new rom the start screen from finless rom ist short coming up.I think I have some pieces from finless still on my box...how can I fully clean it.

For now use the kernel flashes I have in post #2, that will clear the boot animation.

I did it now but the problem still exist. I flashed your kernel from Post2 via cwm. than made a factory reset , wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache.
did not boot the device. keep cwm open and flashed direct your rom. but after booting finless screen comes up.

any idea

The kernel flashers cannot be flashed with CWM. They need to be flashed with the RKandroidtool inside the zip file.

I got an error "can't parse CPU features" at the opening screen of xbmc after adding advancesettings.xmlI am running version 13.0.1Alpha-1.Tried reinstalling the program doesnt work.Do a check and couldnt find the xbmc folder in the /sdcrard/Android/data/ directory though it has succesfully reinstalled the program.Any suggestion b4 I try to install back old version? Thanks.

Try the hardware acceleration version, but uninstall any previous xbmc versions first and then install and run it at least one time and that xbmc folder should now be there.

Thanks. My mistake that I am confused that I hv run this advancesetting in my phone setting instead.If I hv already installed the libstagefright.so and run the xbmc, now I copy the advancesettings.xml to the correct location with the right permission and then reboot the system. It should be fine, right?If there is problem, I will proceed to flash Finless ROM 1.0.
