So I read the instruction on how to flash 1.8, installed the win8 drivers for my laptop etc.. but still no dice. The device gets mounted as ROCKCHIPS (or something) but the flash tool never sees it and never says 'device found' to reboot to flash mode. Even the alternate flash tool didn't help. I have access to a different PC that I know will work (I used it to flash 1.7) but all this seems cumbersome.
Is there a reason why we aren't producing CWM flashable updates ? Maybe its just because I have been flashing roms on my phone for years with CWM and am familiar with the process but I am thinking its way easier to download the ROM on to SD, reboot to recovery and flash. This can all be done without getting up from my couch (Yes I am VERY lazy).
With Bob's permission, I can look into repackaging finless 1.8 for CWM if there is interest.
