    defective graphics (GPU) ?? MK808

today my MK808 started with something strange
flickering lines and dots in red and green

    already tried to reflash
    the HDMI plug looks normal
I have tried another powersupply, another monitor
    looks like a hardware problem

    anyone had this before?

Well before confirming failure, for sure try another HDMI cable. Mine was garbage and would cause all kinds of random screen artifacts as well as not letting my TV know it was even hooked up!

today the new HDMI cable came, its a little bit frustrating, but it is more worse green dots everywhere
same if i change screen to 720
        it wasn't a cheap one - 15€ but its 1 meter long, i didn't find a shorter one.
now i am unsure... maybe the connector on the MK808 is
broken, or the new cable to long, whatever.

Sorry but I can't help, not seems gpu problem to me, and yes connection issue, hdmi signal not arrives properly to the tv. If is not the wire, must be the connectors. The image is the same using both hdmi cables?

              Thank you anyway
No its different, with the (short) original cable I have only few flickering green or red lines
with the new long cable its really bad, green dots all over.
that mean, the cable makes a difference

I dont want to buy cable after cable only to try. but I think in some way the signal of the MK808 must be to less for long cables, but no way to find one with 15cm

maybe its the onboard connector, but this i cant change, this is to small for me to solder

While this could be the cable....I would try wiggling the HDMI cable to see if the lines actually go away or change shapes, etc.

My family's Samsung LED Tv has this same effect where it would periodically have splatters of red hues over the screen.Wiggling the cable would make the effect go away for a few days before it returned. Eventually, the redness wouldn't leave and it was identified that the HDMI connectors had gone bad and that it needed to be replaced.

Maybe a similar situation happened here?

Do you use bundled HDMI adapter(mini-HDMI to HDMI) ?
I've found mine has same problem and changing HDMI cable didn't help. But, fortunately I got another HDMI adapter which bundled with my graphic card for PC. And change that adapter solve the problem.

No, i don't use any adapters, its definitely the on-board HDMI connector of the MK808
I have washed now the connector with Isopropyl-alcohol and tried to fasten the plug and its much better.
                    but I don't trust this thing 100%
at the moment its behind the TV and works, (with the original cable) lets see tomorrow
I think it might be better not to touch it anymore
