Is installing an MK808 ROM on Virtualbox possible?

I have a version of JB 4.1.1 working pretty well in Virtualbox by following the instructions below: http://www.keyables.com/2012/10/run-...irtualbox.html

However it would be useful to have the ability to run the various Finless custom ROMs in a Virtualbox environment.

    Hmmmm that is interesting!

But did you read what he had to do to port 4.1.1 including a custom kernel?

You wont be able to just run my ROM. But I may look into how to make a OVA file from a ROM. There must be some tool to do that or it is just a file system like a virtual hard disk? I need to learn that part first then I might try a port.

"Vergeef hen want ze weten niet wat ze doen"
"Pardonne-leur car ils ne savent pas ce qu'ils font"
"Perdónalos porque no saben que lo que hacen"
"Oprosti im, jer ne znaju što čine"
"Forgive them as they know not what they do"

The author of the tutorial obtained the OVA files from androVM.org, so don't believe he knows how to build one. The OVA is imported into Virtualbox as an appliance. My interest is in using it to test development Apps without crashing a real Android device, so this version maybe more than adequate for my purposes.

The version I installed is below.

vbox86t with Google Apps : androVM_vbox86t_4.1.1_r4-20121002-gapps.ova (installed with gapps-jb-20120726-signed.zip from Cyanogen)

It works with Google Play and the several Apps I installed all worked. Also it is rooted and SuperUser, as well as, Busybox work. It is a bit laggy, but not horrible. It isn't nearly as laggy as accessing my MK808 over a VNC connection. It can see the Internet, but it can't yet see computers on my LAN. I need to do some more reading to figure that part out. I will note that in Settings all of the developer options are greyed out.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Hey Bob, did you ever look into how to do this?

It would great to be able to test custom ROM's in Virtualbox.
