The DTS/AC3 Sound issue.

First time post for me, I am looking to buy a mini android PC for my kids so that they can play movies with me having to find/change/look after them.

I thought after looking for a few days I'd get the Imito MX2 but I continue to read that DTS and AC3 audio does not work. Is this the case with SD movies. Everything I have is SD I have no wish to use HD video at this time but I do know that some of the files I have use AC3/DTS and other audio I've heard mentioned.

Will these play using XBMC on this android mini pc or is it back to WDTV-Live?

They should play but the audio will just be 2 channel stereo.

Thanks for that, not worried about that as the kids are only 6 and 7. I don't think they are going to ask why is this not in ac3 audio.

Does it just mean that anything in the non supported form will be downgraded to 2 channels.

Sorry to say, but I have tried everything to get 5.1 of any kind through this device. To this date it is a no go. If anything ever changes I will be sure to update the forums as to the breakthrough but for now and the near future there will be only 2ch.

As for no sound it could be due to the licencing agreement with DTS. It was removed from a lot of players. There are work around found here on the forums though.
