    @Leolas
    There are some bootanimation.zip files on below link page, if you have a easier way to install through es fileexplorer (through data/local OR /system/media), please explain below, I'll add it here and give you credit. TIA

        I tried this and it doesn't work.

        I believe the bootanimations on the MK808 (Google TV and Android logo) are hardcoded in the kernel/rom

        EDIT - Obv it should work on a "clean" ROM. Just not the default ROM it's shipped with

          Dont confuse bootanimation with the kernel initial boot screen!

            Yes I understand these are different, but still, on a stock MK808 device, you still cannot change the bootanimation (the glowing "android" logo)

              You must be rooted and then you have to remont /system as RW or you wont be able to change anything there. Stock ROMs are not rooted.

                Trust me, the box is rooted and I mounted the system folder properly. The bootanimation.zip has copied properly.

                It doesn't work. Tried in system/media and data/local. Neither work because, like I said, the animation is baked into the ROM.

                There is plenty of chatter about it on the net. You havw to flash a "clean" ROM to be able to overwrite it.

                  Trust me.... that is totally untrue! I think I would know don't you think?
                  Especially if your using one of my ROMs?
                  Bootanimation.zip CAN be replaced with your own.

                  Now there is a default animation inside framework if bootanimation.zip does not exist in /media!
                  So if the bootanimation.zip is no good, it will defer to the one in framework.
                  Me thinks this might be your problem.

                    I'm not using your ROM. I'm on the Stock ROM. Said it a few times.

                        Well since my ROMs are made from stock ROMs, I am still telling you that you can change bootanimation if done properly.
                        Again, if your getting the default animation in framework then your bootanimaiton.zip is either not right, permissions are not set right, or something along that line.
