What is the difference between USB OTG and HOST ?

    Hi all,

    i still dont understand,
what is the use of each of the ports?

is there a difference between the HOST port and the OTG port ?

    the device is MK808.

    thanks!

    • Host is the device acting as the USB Host
    • USB On The Go means that the device can act as both a client and a Host. The switch is done via either special adapter or via software. If you have two peripherals and want communications between them, use OTG port.

OTG mode is for cameras and related devices supporting that protocol. Peripheral mode turns your tablet into a card reader to look at the internal and card storage. Host mode allows other devices (such as flash drives and keyboards) to be connected.

        Resuming,
If you have two devices that have to communicate itself use OTG port.
If the communication is only between device and unit you can use HOST port.
