libstagefright on XBMC = scrambled SD videos?

This might not be related to the awesome 1.7c ROM by finless, but anyone else have a problem playing some SD videos? (specially 480p ones)

when I try to play any of them (mostly youtube) all I get is a scrambled image and sound

any solutions for this? btw this also happens if I download the video and try to play it in XM player

My setup is working really nice. I am using Hardware Accl builts from here http://mirrors.xbmc.org/test-builds/android/ I am on Bob's 1.7a + Kizs Kernel.

I am also using the HW acel version, from 19/02/13 which I think is the most recent one

can you open this video ? on SD?

I have my option set to "ask" to choose the quality, if I choose 480p a lot of videos don't display correctly, if I choose 360p then they play correctly.

          YouTube plugin is 4.4.4

just to make sure, you are playing it on XBMC with HW acel on (libstagefright enabled, on settings->video->playback) ?

if it plays correctly then it might be the new libstagefright, since finless 1.7a does not have it...

          Thanks

I'm on 808B/Finless 1.6/XBMC h/w accelerated, have the same issue of scramble even on playing SD videos(avi) through cifs or when playing live streams through BBC Iplayer. though Amazon prime 720ps or any other hi quality streams over cifs plays without a glitch.

I also get scrambled video on some SD videos using libstagefright-xbmc build on Finless 1.7, MK808B.

Horizontaly scrambled but audio plays just fine.

It does not happen to all SD videos tho, mostly xvid avi files. Videos play just fine in Archos Video Player.

Sorry! I misunderstood you, I thought you are asking about Youtube android app's performance, I mixed it up.

hehe, no worries, I figured that was whats happening

anyways, it seems this is a know issue with XBMC and we will just have to wait for a fix (if any) meanwhile, I eddited my YoutubePlayer.py to select the 380p video automatically if no HD video is available

                    1.7c + XBMX-hwaccel

I use the 1.7c rom with xbmc-20130219-32e99c7-android-hwaccel-armeabi-v7a build from xbmc.org.

With my previous rom (1.6+2dark1.4kernel) with patched libstagefright the MK808 got very hot and I had problems with SD content (diagonal crunching) , also XBMC crashed sometimes. First the background disappeard and then I had to force close XBMC.

                    Now with Finless 1.7c + xbmc-20130219 :

720p files from icefilms play very nice without dropping frames or juttering.

SD content plays without diagonal crunching.
XBMC does not crash anymore in hardware mode.
12Gb+ MKV 1080p files from HDD or NAS do play but only a few frames per sec and more frames are dropping than are played so that is not working.
Other plugins such as wareztuga, oneclick, 1channel navix etc also does not work properly.
