PiPo M5 RileyROM 1.0

This is the first release of a ROM for the Pipo M5 8" tablet.

This new ROM is rooted with ext4 file system, init.d support, 2gb user app space and CWM support.

Please look at the ReadMeFirst file for details.

I'm still working on polishing the CWM a little more, but I was able to get it to work with a few steps on the user's part. My next release will fix that issue.

I also have a problem with stock M5. When I turned on the wifi and bluetooth at the same time, all I got is a Boot Loop screen.

Does this problem occur when you turn them on at the same time (both "activating" simultaniously) - or just basicly when both are active at the same time? I have a bit similar problem with my phone - if I try to activate WIFI, Bluetooth and GPS simultaniously - it locks up and reboots, no loop though. If I give each of them time to activate before doing the next one, I have no problems though.

It happens for me when I try to activate wifi and bluetooth at the same time (simultaneously) then it boot loops for me. Im using stock rom.

Although I cant pair my iPhone with my M5 for some reason...using my ROM running wifi and Bluetooth simultaneously doesn't cause it to reboot.

I'm not saying that my ROM will solve your problem...because it might be your hardware. You might try flashing the RILEYROM and see.

I cannot believe I did not find this thread and forum sooner! Custom rom for the M5!!! Thank you so much in advance. Any development on this tablet would be appreciated by me. I will download this ROM and let you know my thoughts. If you guys have any other tips or tricks for this tablet, please let me know.

I hope you like the UI tweaks on this ROM.

You should download an app called Volume Notification to get control of the sound volume. It shows up on the notification bar.

This was one of my first Pipo ROM's...and it didn't generate much traffic. I don't know how popular the M5 tablet is, but I really like the 8" screen...this is a very unique tablet.

Although it is a 3066...this thing works very well.

I noticed a firmware update, so I decided to make a new ROM...so here is a link to v1.1
