I've just released my first RK3188 ROM fir the Cube U30GT 2. I'm very impressed with this tab

Notes

• Flashing will delete everything on your Cube consider backing up first and remve any sdcard

Instructions

• Download and extract to a folder
• connect the tab to the PC (you did remove the sdcard)
• start the ROM flash tool
• put the tab into flash mode, the PC should detect it, see below for instructions
• install drivers if required
• erase idb
• flash, the ROM kit is correctly configured
• the tab should boot to recovery and format cache, data and sdcard (this will take a few minutes)
• the tab should now boot

Let me know how this goes.

So what do you get?

• defaults to english uk
• root
• some bloat removed
• busybox and init.d support
• play/market fixes for more apps in Google Play
• 2 gig app space (this is standard on the stock ROM)

Booting to Bootloader

1. Power off the Cube
2. hold Vol +
3. After 3 to 4 seconds release Vol +
4. The Cube should be detected by the PC.

If you have not already installed the drivers now would be a good time. I've included the drivers in the ROM kit in the RockusbDriver folder.

I receive error after installing drivers - Code 10 = installed incorrectly - not working.

Win8 - 64bit

Step 1 - Get bootloader on android.
Step 2 - Connect via usb to laptop/desctop
Step 3 - Get new device found in system devices list



Step 4 - install drivers (forced from selected source)




Step 5 - see nothing working, failed to start device = Code 10.

Any suggestions how to get the connection working? any extra steps or the issue with compatibility? i.e. win 8?

Sorry still on vista so have not come across this. I think I've seen a few posts on problems installing to divers on windows 8. If I find them I'll post details.

I believe so, I've not removed any language support just set the default to English.

How does the screen, wifi and sound compare to the 3066 tabs you have used?

The screen and wifi are great.

Everything runs much faster, and battery time is good. Downloads don't seem to lag the device much, I've noticed. I'm having trouble keeping wifi on during sleep, I set the advanced setting to always keep on, but I've noticed it goes off during sleep. I'll watch it further. Same thing is happening with my Pipo M5.

I haven't seen any issues yet.

I'm tweaking my case a little to open up the speakers. After that, I'll test further.

Has anyone been able to connect it to a Bluetooth stereo? I have been able to connect it to my computer and my other tablet but not to my Bluetooth stereo. It does not see the stereo in it's list of device during scan. AD2P issue?

Brian, are you including the new Win 8 64 drivers for Rockchip?

Also, even then my understanding is you have to turn off driver signing in administrative settings as the drivers are not signed.

It's the drivers pack as uploaded by geekbuying the other week. Could well be that unsigned drivers is required on win8.

Probably not, why not use the ROM I released for the U9GT5
