I have a big movie collection, and I use the EHomeMediaCenter app (that comes as a default DLNA render on pc sticks) Alot! I find using the app better than installing and configuring XBMC on each device, although I do use XBMC on my Windows 7 PC as the DNLA/UPNP server. In turn, I use BubbleUPNP (on my mobile phone with wifi) as a remote to find the media and play to whichever room I am in that has an Android Mini PC.

My question is, has anyone been able to extract the EHomeMediaCenter app from the Andoid Mini PCs, so that it can be installed on other android devices?

As an example: My wife uses her Samsung Galaxy Tab2 7.0 in the kitchen. it would be great if her tab acted like an Android Mini PC with the EHomeMediaCenter app installed on it.
The reason I am asking for/about the EHomeMediaCenter app, is because, other DNLA/UPNP rendering apps have limitations and aren't as simple at the EHomeMediaCenter app, as a play to point (render) in our home.

Any and all answers would be helpful even if you recommend an alternative app that is just as simple, flexible and able to handle all media types. Although EHomeMediaCenter isn't as feature rich as XBMC. XBMC for Android does not play all media types as smoothly as EHomeMediaCenter does. Plus as a play to point XBMC bells and whistles aren't needed.

I believe (could be wrong) that the E-home Media Center APP is a Rockchip based application and thus probably will not work on any device that is not RK3066 or better.

Which specific firmware does this app come on? I could extract it and try it on an rk3066 tablet...we'll just see if it works, or not. Maybe not a Samsung Galexy, but maybe one of our Rockchip based tablets.

The EHomeMediaCenter app is from the Imito Mx2
(which i have in every room in my house except the kitchen and bathroom)
which has been upgraded to the 1.7 Finless Rom.

The APK installed on the Samsung Tab2 7.0, but it didn't show up in bubbleupnp on any of the other devices on my network.

I ran the apk and bubble upnp on the same device to see if it would show up on the device itself, no luck.
I also have a dlna/upnp software that came default on an unrooted Metro PCS LG Motion. no luck either.

Might there be additional components such as the imitos default media player, that should be installed in along with the EHomeMediaCenter? and other underlying components and/or services?

I understand that this might only be an RK3066 app, so other app recommendations are welcomed.

i have testex in my mk808 ans works well . it need more options to configure but does thebasic works.

Yes I believe there are some LIB.so files, some /bin files and possibly some codecs.
These will be compiled for a Rockchip kernel so again this is why I do not think it will work on non rockchip devices.

not intended to resurrect a dead topic

but is there a convenient way to make this app run at boot? I never remember to start it when i boot. and I always want it running when I'm on my phone and nowhere near the UG802.
