Is it possible to mount nfs share on mk808b finless 1.7?

    Hi all
I was looking around searching for this without answer..
I have lots of HD film on my linux setopbox hdd and mounting this hdd trough smb share make them show laggy.
    My connection is on wifi
I read that nfs sharing is much faster and the setopbox has the nfs server option.
Is available the mounting option on mk808b finless 1.7?
    thanks
    pietro

mount manager does the job fine then you can use es file explorer to view the folders that you mounted.

          Ciao
Niente da fare con la connessione con mount manager..
La cartella esposta dal nfs รจ /media/hdd
          Ho messo
          //Iplinuxbox:/media/hdd
          Mi dice no such device..
          Come mai?
          Thnx

            ftp, curlftpfs

What I would do is run an ftp server on it, and then on the Linux side, mount it using curlftpfs. The whole communications protocol is a lot simpler and it should perform quite well.
If you're on Windows, then there *has* to be a way to "mount" it in such a way, where the remote ftp connection becomes a new drive letter. I can't imagine if that has not been done before.
I'd stay away from complicated cumbersome convoluted protocols like SMB or NFS as well. Those protocols get all panicky when there are connection problems.

              Hi Andromoid
the smb protocol works well with linux setopox as server and android (mk808) as client.
The problem is that it's a little bit slow and I can't see HD films in streaming..
Can I perform direct streaming with ftp?
I knew ftp is only for transfer whole files not for streaming..
              Is that right?
Ftp server is working on my linux box, that isn't a problem.
I'll like to mount nfs because I read around it's much faster than smb share, isn't it?

              By the way, thanks!

absolutely!!! the only way you'll see hd video is with nfs

if anyone wants to experiment with windows nfs-server at the hanewin website rulez

oh btw peter dont forget to install the nfs server on the linux side. ive used it before and it is a little tricky setting it up but the fruits of your labor will be no lag while watching 1080p streams

You guys need to read this thread. Leolas just compiled NFS drivers. So you guys can sure help by testing.

                      Hi leolas
I have a linux satellite receiver with internal hdd and with nfs derver on it.
I'm trying to connect to it with mk808b 1.7 rom with no success.
On Ubuntu 12.04 I am able to mount the nfs server in read only mode.
If you want, and have enough patience - I'm not a linux expert, I can try the module you're compiling.
                      Thanks
                      Pietro

                        ok here I am..
I downloaded the zip file and I have extracted the content of nfs (2 files) into /system/lib/modules with root explorer.
                        I changed permissions to rw-r--r--
                        then in terminal emulator
                        su
                        insmod -p -o nfs.ko
                        insmod: can`t open `-p`

                        insmod -o nfs.ko
                        insmod: can`t open `-o`

                        insmod nfs.ko
                        can`to open nfs.ko

                        same with nfs
                        same with /system/lib/modules/nfs.ko

                        where an I wrong??
                        thnks

Tried to load nfs.ko on Neomode MK802iiiS 1.7 but I got exec format error.
                          Probably not compatible...

ok im at a standstill. i cant get the mounts to happen, but interestingly enough mount manager is able to mount them. im getting no such device error. so until i figure wtf is happening i cant send you any info on the drivers.
