<SOLVED> - OTG connect not working

    Hi,

just got my MK808B. After opening it, i'd say its an original. Has stock ROM Olsen Kernel #25 on it. When i try connecting it to my PC for flashing Finless ROM, it just doesnt get detected by the Flash Tool. I used the power supply cable for plugging it to the PC while i had the Device also connected to the TV. Thats because otherwise i cannot switch the USB settings to "Connect to PC", as thats always ticked OFF after reboot. UBS debugging is OFF.

So the PC is detecting the MK808 as storage device fine, just no luck with the flash tool. Can i use any Micro USB cable or are there indeed "special" ones? The adapter one which came with the stick (http://www.amazon.de/USB-OTG-Adapter.../dp/B005JDETZA) i couldnt use, because i have no USB cable to match for that (same connector at both ends, sorry, hope you know what i mean)

I tried on USB 3.0, 2.0, mac, windows, etc. Just have no more ideas.

Maybe i'm that lucky and the OTG port ist just defect?

    Regards,

Pls if you can, read and search a bit, there are a lot of post about how make flashtool find your device. And I suggest you ensure what is your exact version of mk808b before flash anything.

well i did spend the better part of my day yesterday in trial and error and reading up about it, which is never a good sign if you you want to decide to keep a device or not .

I tried searching for OTG which of course doesnt work because its too short, i tried otg flash which of course just gets result for "flash". I also read topics back for days, prolly weeks with no OTG relevant stuff in the header.

So if there really are so many problems with that topic, maybe there should be a FAQ/sticky so that newbies like me dont always need to ask.

I still would appreciate some pointers regarding the matter which cable can/have to be used, so i can eliminate some stuff.

So, can it be done with the US cable that we normally use for power, or do i have to use that adapter one, which would make me have to buy an additional USB cable, which seems kinda silly and pointless.

        Sorry, my bad

Yeah well, as i said in the topic, my bad. After running in the first obstacle while trying to get the device in flash mode, i tried fixing that instead of just reading on.....

So to make it short, i now have a working Finless Android 4.2.2 ROM.

Also i will tell you my steps, so that the next newbie maybe gets along little faster:

        1)

Do not try to bring the device in flash mode like its described at the beginning (sorry Bob, just my experience) as you will get frustrated. Jump directly down to were it describes using the internal "flash button". Maybe put that point in a more prominent spot in the README.

        2)

Install the drivers manually as described in README

        3)

Reconnect device again with using the internal button. You now ALREADY ARE IN FLASH MODE. Using the button "Reboot to flash Mode" will only get you an error. Continue with erase and flash as described in README

        Boom, you done.
