I do not recall what the warrenty period is sorry.

As for taking it apart. I saw one apart once. The are 4 corner screws and then you have to pull off the rubber feet as I belive (not 100% sure) there are screws under the rubber feet.

that's exactly what i've done my daughter dropped my 10g2 when she was using it on charge and snapped the pin off i used a metal spike jammed in the charging plug to add the pin back brilliant fix as when i took mine back they said it was not a manufacturing fault and they wouldn't repair so this fix was brill all i will say is people be aware it seems that the charging pin is weak on the 10g2 and easily broken as my daughter only dropped it from her lap to the floor less than 1/2 a foot i would say

Several people have complained of this defect on the Philly Tabletforum hosted by Philadelphia Media Network for their users. I think it's clearly a manufacturing defect and poor choice of parts. There's simply no good reason you can't charge via the USB port. They can't have saved money that way.

To charge via USB port takes special hardware due to the low current SPEC on USB ports. So the reason it probably was not added was not just a stupid trace or wire... It was COST.....

What do you want for $180 bucks?

My charge jack has not had a single problem yet... I bump it all the time flashing ROMs almost every day. But if you abuse cheap Chinese products don't expect them to last!

LOL. That *was* funny. Yeah, my charge port has behaved, although I couldn't shut the darn unit off yesterday when I was trying to pack to head home from a business trip and nothing I did would shut the unit off. Eventually I was able to use Reboot Manager Widget to regain control and power it down. Also, there's a small LCD crack. I know fixing these things is a bear, so I'm going to tolerate it until I can afford a "real" tablet like an Asus Transformer or something.
