Change Internal Storage on Custom ROM?
I have Neomode's Custom ROM with KitKat 4.4.2 for MK809III (AP6210): http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...d-4-4-2-update I have had to install Link2SD because I run out of room for my apps, specifically Kodi. I have nothing but issues when using Link2SD, and now I have to reflash the entire ROM because the whole system is screwy. I know there must be a way to custom edit the .img files. But I can't remember where to start. Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm really unhappy with the partitions within the internal storage.Last edited by threehappypenguins; 21 April 2015, 19:58.Tags: None

I am ready to pull my hair out!! Why does unpacking boot.img have to BE SO DIFFICULT?!?! I tried a various Windows unpacking tools, but none of them work. Either I get an empty ramdisk folder, or I get the error, "android magic not found in boot.img"
So now I have VirtualBox with Debian (Linux) running, and I'm all confused about the STUPID SYNTAX. Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1477845
Well for all you Linux users, it seems simple enough, but none of this makes sense. I tried moving xperiaboottools.zip to the Home folder, unzipped it there, and then it took me forever to "cd" to the Home folder. I figured it out by typing cd /home
Then I tried cd /home/xperiaboottools and it says no such file or directory. So I tried cd /xperiaboottools, and same thing. So then I gave up and moved the files from xperiaboottools directly into the Home folder. Then I tried typing sudo cp mkbootimg /bin/ and I get the error "cp: cannot stat 'mkbootimg' : No such file or directory."
What the heck?! I just want to freaking unpack the boot.img so I can edit the ramdisk so I can give myself more internal storage. Is that so much to ask?! Why do people make things so complicated?!?!

Hi have you tried this rom http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...=&p=127733 its much the same as the neomode rom but this one has a choice of parameter files
Edit;
Iv just checked noemode rom (ncr_31-mk809iii) & that has the choice of parameter files too..
Open the flash tool that came with the ncr_31-mk809iii rom
On the parameter line click the box at the far right hand side
Navigate to ncr_31-mk809iii kitkat /rockdev & select the parameter you need I would go for the 4GBLast edited by blinkone; 21 April 2015, 19:10.Please consider making a Donation to freakTab

Thanks, blinkone. I wish I would have known that about Neomode's ROM. Before I saw your edit, I went ahead and downloaded Finless's ROM. Everything works, except I find it rather laggy. I think I will go back to Neomode's ROM, knowing now that I can choose parameters. I didn't understand that before and there was no explanation (at least, that I saw). I kept trying to Google "increase internal sd" etc, but I wasn't finding anything except for somehow changing boot.img.
If I wanted to choose a custom kernel, how would I know what is appropriate for my TV stick? I have this one: http://www.geekbuying.com/item/EU-Pl...ck-315398.html

Ha ha sorry about the late edit in the other post I needed to check the neomode rom had the options
A word of warning before I take you any further If you decide to go back to 4.2.2 ROMs you MUST flash the loader for that not the 4.4 one
Back to topic hear is the custom kernals (all you need to do is use a kernel that is for the 6210 wifi chip or you will loose wifi & Bluetooth)
To flash just the kernel untick everything in the flash tool except the kernel ,,
Click the right hand side box on the kernel line locate the kernel you have downloaded from the above link
Flash rom
Sorry pall im trying to add the link to the kernals but it wont let me arrrrLast edited by blinkone; 21 April 2015, 21:45.Please consider making a Donation to freakTab
