    hey bob!

after i send my respons i saw your's post. fw is downloading, and in some 15-20 minutes i'll gave feedback to you.

    thanks in advance!

EDIT: :-( so far, no success. now even x5 won't boot with dvb-t stick connected. when i boot it with, there is black screen. after unplugging, screen brings back, but freeze it.

so, i presume that or drivers aren't good, or this stick isn't compatible with minix. today i'm a bit tired so i'll try tomorow with one another stick from my friend, and try it with it.

for now, thank you. i hope i'll manage to give you some new infos tomorow early afrernoon.

Bob, I'm glad you jumped in on this one! I was trying to help but I'm afraid I was doing more harm than good. For the little I know I wasn't even aware that drivers could be in places other than /system/lib/modules.
This will probably be useless, but just in case it may help, here's a link to the Linux driver for the geniatech t119.

I don't know if it could be compiled for Android if other methods don't work or not.

        hello to all!

new day, but same old problems....

so, after yesterdays mygica t119 stick, i tryed two other - gigabyte 7000 and notonlytv lv2-something-something. i missed exact model.

and no luck. neither model worked, even give me any sign that is even recognized or at least powerde up (led light).
i tryed all three normal usb ports, tryed over otg port - no success.

for now, i'll not throw away this firmware what bob maked, because we do not have tested dvb-t application. as i wrote somewhere, it is not entirely for ics, it is somehow adapted to works with atv3000).

so, after ics supported app we can go back to this fw.

in any case, many thanks to bob, and hope that we'll enjoy in new releases for x5 in future.

The only thing I can tell you is the modules loaded into the kernel fine. So we know the KO modules work.

I will look one more time at the ROM and see if there are LIB files or something else I missed to port.

"Прости им, они не ведают, что творят"
"Perdona loro perché non sanno quello che fanno"
"Vergib ihnen, denn sie wissen nicht, was sie tun"
"Vergeef hen want ze weten niet wat ze doen"
"Pardonne-leur car ils ne savent pas ce qu'ils font"
"Perdónalos porque no saben que lo que hacen"
"Oprosti im, jer ne znaju što čine"
"Forgive them as they know not what they do"

              hello 2 all!

              new news. not good, but....

i contacted mygica/geniatech support crew. they said that HiDTV is _only_ for their products (ATVxxxx). but i founded some "dvd player", generic name, but, icon is same as HiDTV, but this one is at least not unloading and crashing. here is LINK.

also, i founded newer hidtv, but, no use - still unloading/crashing....

with this one, i had not such problems, BUT, it doesn't see dongle. it starts, start searching channels, but no advance.

i tryed both bob/s firmwares - with 1.2b w/o drivers, all ok-oss booting, app starts, but no search.
with 1.2.c (w/ drivers) i can't boot system with plugged dongle. it stuck after animation and only reset or power off helps. without plugged dongle, system starts, but again no search. but i presume that dongle should be plugged in to initialize it.

so, is problem in dongle, in false/missing drivers, i do not know.

here is another LINK, it leads to similar box as x5 is. first link in text. from that firmware i got that dvb-t player from link above. so, bob, please, can you take a look and see is there some other drivers or their components to implement?

              thanks in advance!

i'm keep looking for some apps.

              regards!

i got linux drivers for this 119 stick. can you, please, take a look and see can they be implemented in firmware?

                here is LINK

                thanks in advance!

The applications you mention above are designed for Amlogic libraries and.

Jazrom tried to implement the rules in the following link with few bugs ;-)

                  Enjoy it,

must say that i'm not much closer to solution. i read, i read lot of pages from that topic, but, still i'm missing way to implement those drivers to official or bob's rom. there are mentioned few files and folders, but all what i have is one .fw file, but it seems to me that is not enough.

but, thanks a lot, i'll read few times more, maybe i missed something.

                      application drivers/modules and firemare files

                      vikidroid,

                      go to url:

                      read the 1st post:
you will find two zip files:

one application zip file using external video reader.
one zip file with drivers, firmware (including siano) and activation script.

                      cheers,

that's ok. that is player. but i missing firmware? or, better say, i have only linux driver. which do not have "setup.dvb" and file mentioned on beginning of that post. i have one .fw file which is not good-it is extracted from something complitely firrerent, but i can't implement it.

so, IMHO, first i need to find a way to convert this linux driver to android. after that i presume that this procedure you linked will work. until then - .

So any TV tuner sticks working yet? With DVR support? I have a MINIX X5, that I wouldd love to turn into a DVR/tuner as long as its not to expensive to do so.

sadly, but still nothing. i can't find way (or better say, i do not know) how to implement driver into firmware and obviously, there is not many users interested in this feature. i even wrote to minix, but no answer from there. browsing pages, i found few dvb-t tuners primary manufactured for android. of course they can be used in pc. but still very high price (little less than 100€) and they are application dependent. it is not possible to use some other app with that tuner.

so, i'm not loosing hope about that. with this usb stick yes, it simply doesn't work on minix (works on geniatech devices) but this new devices sounds like a win. just a little patience! ;-)
