Power issue with OTT M8N Square box. help please

My box had been working from around November time when I got it until the start of this week.

It froze when I was on xbmc and tried to load up a link. Nothing would work.
I tried to power off the device with the remote and it failed to work also.
I then resorted to pulling out the power lead and it powered off but when i put it back into the box
the blue LED flickered once (on then off) and the box does nothing, no output on screen and no blue LED.
Tried the remote to power it on and it will not work either.

have no idea why this may have happened because I had no previous issues, I did leave the devise on most of the time but it never seemed to run hot or anything so didn't think this would be a problem

Sounds like your power pack has gone, do you have any way of testing it ?
Maybe a similar power pack you can use just check the that the volts etc are the same.

I tried a different supply and was the same result. I even tried the one I thought was faulty on my Dads M8 box and its working fine.

I was gonna try and flash the software but I don't even think it will get given the chance to boot. My only other thought was to check the solder on the socket it plugs into as I've seen there has been some issues on previous boxes with the HDMI port.

If that doesn't do it, its properly a brick.

if your box is a genuine m8n , you can get it from acemax website
http://www.acemax.net.cn/blog/unbric...tv-box-71.html first make it alive, and then do upgrading to their latest softwae with kodi, and new usb burning tool https://mega.co.nz/#!IgdhFbRK!dTD2u8...X6Q7HB27oz4Z1Y

I'm not sure if it's bricked though or a component is damaged , thinking possibly one of the diodes could be away. For me to use that usb burning tool and flash the box would it not need to have power?

USB POWER from your computer is ok
no need to connect with power supply charger
