HI All,
Im pretty new to the scene of Android TV, But a friend of mine as gave me his android box to have a look at. After setting up the device last night to my TV i can see when the button is pressed (Power Button on the front) i get a 5 seconds red Light and then it goes off, Im guessing its failing the boot / Initial start up.
So i downloaded RK batch Tool, and RK Rom Dumper, installed all drivers. After reading about bricked devices i thought i would try to boot the device into recovery mode(Button under the box). So i connected USB cable to the box and pc and power cable and the button glows red solid, So i hold down the recovery button for about 5 seconds, which turns the solid red light off for about 2 seconds and it glows again. When it glows again any of the Batch / Rom software installed says device is connected and shows a Green Box. I thought great locate firmware, and click restore which i did, it goes through the process downloading firmware / checking firmware etc and returns with no issues successful 1 Failed 0 and the time in MS..
I then discount the USB cable and power cable, move from my PC to my TV. Plug in odd looking small HDMI cable into the box and TV, along with power cable. Wait about 10 seconds, nothing on screen so i press power button with the same issue i was given the device with. I have checked the plug and I’m 100% using the plug that came with the box.
So i was hoping :P Anyone here can throw a couple of ideas my way, As mentioned both applications installed pick up the device so i can press any of the options? But due to not wanting to create more damage only ran the restore function on both using the firmware.

P.S Hoping to get this box working to test it out before purchasing myself a android box so if you are here to help let me know what box you are using so i can get an idea which is most commonly used.
