    MK 808b Plus not booting

    Hi,
Received my Android stick last week. Initially I had no problems and device booted as normal. After a couple of days when I went to open "you tube" or "xbmc" the unit appeared to crash or freeze. The screen would turn black or green and sometimes other colours. My first thought was this is power problem where i thought there were unsufficient amps available when opening up larger programs. I changed my power adapter to a new 2 amp 5 volt one but the problem still occurred. I also tried powering the unit from the T.V usb output power but still the same problem. I also tried different HDMI lead but to no avail.

I managed to get devise into recovery mode on one occasion (holding in reset button while powering on) but before i had a chance to choose an option the devise crashed/froze again.
Now when I power on I get blank screen and sometimes no signal.
I've tried to flash finless ROM 1.1 by SD card but didn't work. i.e Three files recovery.img, factory.aml and finles11.zip (I find is strange that you keep the zip file unopened on the SD card)
So then tried to use the amlogic flash tool method while connecting devise to laptop. This was also unsuccessful getting the error "Parse fail image"

I was however able to flash the stock ROM "MK808B M805 Plus_109k4_181145 20141222" I got this to flash 100% successful, but when I connect to T.V again I got Blank screen.

I believe there is still hope for my devise as I did get it to flash successfully once and the blue light is constantly on when devise is powered up.
This is a great little devise when working and would be great to get it going again. Enjoying the fault finding and problem solving but would be great to get some help in getting this devise going again.
By the way the chip on this device is an Amlogic M805 quad-core and was purchased from "Gearbest"

    Any help much appreciated

Can you open your unit to check if you have an original MK808B (with AP wireless chipset) or with realtek (clone).
Only that way you can know for shure what ROM you should apply.

Not sure how to check for that. I'll upload an image Click image for larger version

The wifi chipset is on the other size, even so I would say that for your photo is the original, but check the other side, you should have a chip that says APsometing or a tiny crab on a RTL chip (that would be the clone).

But if you were able to flash the other ROM and have a black screen, did you already tried to use another HDMI cable or in another TV?
On my LG mine freezes the TV, one my Philips I have no problem.

I am quite sure it is broken. Probably a faulty RAM or SoC. But you can get a new one for just 30$ from gearbest.

So when you connect to tv you never see any image, neither the boot one? Only black screen from start to end?
Did you already retried to reflash again, so double check if wasn't a fault flash problem?

Yep only black screen. I'll keep at it. I've contacted Gearbest and there happy to send another devise once I pay for postage. I'll let you know of progress is made. Thanks for the help
