NEW MX3 Android Tv Box FROZEN - reset button in av doesnt work

    Hi,

I purchased an MX3 Quad core with kit kat which arrived today from the geek app, it was posted from a company called tomtop in china. I started setting up the repo's in XBMC, and the thing froze. I tried unplugging, waiting, re-plugging but it keeps loading the frozen screen. Ive done a little research and discovered there is a reset switch, so ivwe followed every tut' i can find and no matter what it doesnt reset, or boot into a recovery screen, even though i can actually feel a switch inside the av hole.

does anybody have any suggestions? Im guessing it could be fake as it has 5v on the plug, but either way i should stil be able to reflash right? im would have to do this via my desktop i think because the reset doesnt work but unsure how, and there is a lack of info ion this box at present.

Sounds to me like you got stuck with a dud Power Adapter.... I'd contact the seller for a replacement... But the Adapter should have 5V at 2000mA, or 5V, and 2A, which is what the MXIII needs.

As to where the Reset Switch is located... Its inside the AV (Jack) Port, to get to it you need to use something like an old Q-Tip with the ends either cut, or stripped off (duh!).
Then, its as simple as inserting Tab "A" into Slot "B", until you fee the "click" of the Reset Button.

IMHO these Boxes shouldn't just "die" like that, so I'd say that this was definitely a problem with the Power Adapter, and you need to contact the Seller IMMEDIATELY, for such recourse.
The last thing you need to be doing now is to start messing with the Firmwares, and risk perma-bricking it.
