    RK3288 HDMI-Stick not booting anymore (Andoer X1)

    Hello,

as I've just said in the other Thread , I've bought an RK3288 HDMI Stick called Andoer X1.

I tried installing another FW without making an Backup (yeah stupid me) because I thought, how big can the difference be with the same chipset, BIG MISTAKE.

Right now my HDMI Stick isn't booting at all with any Android image, I've tried installing th MicroSD Bootloader and with this Bootloader + an Linux image, I at least get an Bootloop with an Android Logo (I guess it must be the Bootloader from the Linux Image).

Flashing works fine with upgrade_tool and I've also tried to lowlevel format a few times without errors to make sure it wasn't some old fragments.

Does anybody have any idea what more I could do to at least get it starting somehow ?
Linux or Android, doesn't matter, everything is better than now

This is the information I get from rkflashkit :

These forums are pretty dead, and you've really played with fire with installing the MicroSD boot loader and Linux with this. I also made a topic weeks ago with the exact same problem and posted the answer in there.

Flashing that would work unless you need to put it in mask mode if you've proper bricked it, but I would seriously consider sending the thing back once you get it working, it's not fit for purpose.

    Heres my review if interested:

Thanks for your awnser, if I had only read that before.
I was under the impression that most of the RK3288 are the same , but it looks like this isn't the case.

I'm going to try install the stock FW from the thread you linked to get it working again, flashing itself is no problem so I shouldn't need the maskmode.

When I got it running, I'm going to try looking into the differences, maybe we can get it working with Wassers/Linux somehow.

(ps. sadly it's to late to send it back )

After installing the image from your thread it works again.

Do you or anybody else have an idea why neither another RK3288 Android nor Linux variant works on this device (not at all, not even the boot screen.)?

A good few of them use the same PCB, meaning firmware and sometimes kernels can be interchanged.

The only PCB which is the same as this one is the mk809. To get something like custom rom/linux support would mean a completely new kernel with all the .ko and other files required in a new firmware.

It's possible, but highly unlikely anyone will bother to do it. I'd cut your losses and **** it depending on what you plan to use with it, you'll need to mod it regardless.
