MXⅣ Recovery Tutorial

Hi everyone!
It’s my first post in here, I really want to help you guys who love MXⅣ like me. And I was about publishing some useful information on this TV box, hope they can provide you more pleasure.
We did a survey on the markets before and got essential information that people need some apps to be installed previously. So we add:

• Netflix
• The CW
• VLC
• HBO Go
• iHeartradio
• BBC iPlayer
• BBC News
• TuneIn Radio
• Hulu

And we added some Kodi video add-ons in it.

Recovery tutorial

Recovery by TF card:
1. Download the file in the link
2. Decompress the “.rar” file and got 3 files

3. Please copy this 3 files into root directory of a TF card (root directory means straightly copy 3 files into TF card without create any folder). Then plug TF card into the slot.

4. Connect TV box to your television.


5. Use a needle (or something sharp at the end) plug in AV port, meanwhile long press the on/off button to enter recovery mode. And wait


6. After updating the firmwares, please have a check on the app list. Make sure that 9 apps and the video addons in kodi are installed.

Nice But.... Did we really need a HOWTO for this?!
I'd have thought that if your smart enough to make your way here.... You were smart enough to root your own Phablets, and make your Nandroid Backups... With out anyone having to explain what a Nandroid Backup was, or why you should have One... Where possible!

You know what I'd like to see here instead of this? A HOWTO on how you create a working Boot Card Recovery in the event that the n00bs that come along and, read this, and think... AS THEY DO! That this is a M82/S82 Compat Device.... Therefore I should be able to flash K200 (MXIII) Firmware on this and be golden... Well as long as they flash anything post 111k4 that might well be the case now...
Lest just assume though.... That its NOT!

Would Op care to tell us how we make our own Boot Card Recovery with the correct u-boot.bin, which you have to search the entire Web for?
What about a HOWTO that states you should keep the Reset Switch held in place until Windows makes the USB Device Hand shake from with-in the Amlogic USB Burner Tool, and that no One should take the Chinese entry "USB-Hub-n -- Connected" seriously, unless they've already managed that step previously?

I guess that would actually require some thought though. On the other hand though... I'd have more respect for a Company that addressed those issues....

I for one was actually happy with this tutorial. Yes, i know my way around Android, having been playing with it starting with my Samsung Galaxy S custom roms.
But things like this are always welcome.

And if you are not happy, there are other ways to express yourself then to rant like this. How about you send them some constructive suggestions and maybe they can do better next time.
It's nice to see a company actually trying to do things like this, and they shouldn't be criticised like that. They get my respect for atleast trying.

Personally I'd like to see a Company that has access to the Amalogic Source, and didn't just "twerk up" their own version with custom logos plastered over it. like they did it themselves...
I'd also like it if they'd figure out that media.amplayer.widevineenable= was a function (/system/build.prop) best switched to true...

Otherwise have fun watching all that British Catchup stuff since it kinda requires Widevine DRM to be enabled to actually work!!
but, since like every ROM post 108k4 has been flagged to FALSE... And, so can NOT work!

I'm still kinda waiting on an eventual answer to that One...
