how do i get simplink to work with my M8?

so i got the M8 originally for xbmc but the rom that it come with was horrible and after googling i found this site with megatron and finless im currently running finless 1.8 for the xbox controller support but i cant get simplink(LG Smart Tv) to work when scrolling xbmc is there any rom that supports this or a way to enable it?

EDIT i have enabled CEC but it doesnt work

Hi there

With the exception of other LG equipment, I have not been able to use Simplink to connect to anything else - Raspberry Pi 1 & 2, the M8 and several other media players. I have two different LG TVs - one older and one new and neither work. My mum has an LG TV (which ironically is a lot cheaper than either of mine) and that one does actually work with other vendors (at least the Pi anyway). So ridiculous that CEC is not a standard.
