The Chinese version of Windows that comes with Pipo tablets requires the English Language Pack to be installed from Microsoft.

I ran into the same problem after I had to restore the Windows installation on my Onda dual boot tablet. I was trying to get rid of the Chinese text in some of the Windows settings screens...and on the boot screen. After the restore...the language pack had been deleted and the English language wasn't installed.

I can't explain how I did it, but I did manage...through trial and error...to muddle my way through the Chinese titles to get to the language settings in Control Panel (The icons will give you clues) to get to the Language Pack installation app. It took me several hours to figure it out....since everyone I know who reads Chinese lives in China (12 hour time zone difference). Once you find the app, try the different buttons...the one on the right is usually the "OK...go for it" button...just like in English.

Usually, my vendor will do this for me before it is shipped from China...too bad your's didn't.
