I hooked my device up in the living room and i have no audio at all. Connection is via HDMI through a pioneer receiver that had working audio when the matricom gbox was there.

        Hi

You can use my new ROM
        http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...3-light-biz-os

        Use Kodi/NTMC for HD Audio

Set your pass-through settings to the following

Are you setting your pass-through settings correct?

        Android settings
        -Resolution is set on AUTO
-Framerate sync ENABLED(might not be available)
-Color space is set on AUTO(might not be available)
-Audio - Set to HDMI Bitstream not Default

        Kodi settings
-Playback - Adjust display refresh rate - Always
-Pause during refresh rate change - 11 seconds
-Sync playback to display - On
-Acceleration - Allow hardware acceleration MediaCodec - On
-Allow hardware acceleration RockchipCodec - On
-System - Audio output - Play GUI sounds - Never
        -Enable pass-through - On
        -DD/DD+/DTS/TrueHD/DTS-HD - On

Here is also a list of receivers that was tested and the correct settings to use

If you have any problems you can PM me.

          mo123,
Thanks for the reply, I spoke to my family member and the problem is sound via the hdmi to tv

If he uses it on a tv that's a few years old he gets no sound. Eg kdl40x3000 etc

But if it's connected to a Sony or Samsung that is only a couple of years old he does get sound through the hmdi cable to the tv..

Pls note Head phone (AV out) works all the time.. I was wondering if there is a problem with tv's that are hdmi 1.3 spec

He has tried change the sound settings, played around with all of them but still the old tv's won't play sound..

Can this be fixed via firmware/ driver update..

          Many thanks in advance ..

There are lots of differences between HDMI 1.3 and HDMI 2.0
The HPH NT-V6 uses HDMI 2.0.
You can try using a different HDMI cable that is only HDMI 1.3 perhaps.
For using HDMI resolution and sound, you can try using USB speakers that have a 3.5mm stereo connection.
Then you can plug it into the AV port or buy an adaptor like this for around $2 - http://www.dx.com/p/virtual-5-1-surr...5#.VtfN7_l96M8 then sound works trough USB and you can use 720p/1080p resolution.
Here are USB speakers - http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-S150-.../dp/B000ZH98LU.
I think you get ones that are only USB and others that are USB and allow 3.5mm stereo output for equipment like radios etc.
But you won't get HDMI pass-through sound, only with an HDMI 1.4 or 2.0 tv.
