Is it possible to change OS on MX Android box?

First, apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

I currently have an MX Android box which is running Linux and I want to switch to an Android OS so I can access the Android features as my current device loads straight into XBMC.

Is this at all possible? If so, how?

    Thanks in advance.

It is possible to switch to Android.
Before you do this we you need to know the exact Model of Box you have. A Photo of the Box would also be helpful.

      Thank you for the reply.

I'm not sure on the exact model but the information on XBMC tells me "Amlogic based DroidTV MX." If this is not what you need then apologies, if you could let me know where I can find the exact model I would be happy to tell you.

I have just looked at the box it came in and I can see "Dual Cortex-A9" and "Dual Mali-400." Hope this helps. Once again, apologies if it doesn't.

This should be what you need.

I'm in a bit of a situation now and am wodering if I need to change my is or if I can save the android os. I've attempted to flash my system that was running 4.4 os to 5.0 or above and am not having any luck. I'm running an xm premier media box. The developer is not supporting the box anymore, I was one of the unedjecated that got suckered. Long story short I'm trying to flash my system over to a developer that's still offering support with similar systems. I tried flashing with the USB burnning tool and had zero luck, all I received from from this was a nice big blue s812 logo out of my attempts. Am screwed or can I still save my box?
