    X7 windows 10 reservation?

I see that windows 10 reservation prompts have been popping up on windows PC's running 8/8.1, has anyone seen this on the Pipo x7? Just wondering if this is going to be available in the future.

Yes it is available on the pipo. My issue is my x7 will download the update fine, but it makes it about half way through the install then comes up with an error message. All other windows updates work fine accept this one. I wonder if anyone else has this issue?

Not sure if we're talking about the same thing. My query was related to the official release of Win 10 on the Pipo X7. Win 10 is not due for release until end of July.

I have a program called windows 10 technical preview on my apps folder. So I Believe pipo should update to windows 10 through windows updates, this is where mine stops working. When I press on the app icon I am taken to windows update. When I bought the pipo I was led to believe it would update to Windows 10 automatically. I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing either, although I think we want the same results, windows 10. Am I correct? I do not recall receiving a so called reservation as I am not sure exactly what that is. Would they be holding a win 10 for you?

        Update
After checking desktop I have a windows 10 upgrade reservation. So your answer is definitely yes.

Windows 10 was introduced to the world as a free upgrade. This means that as long as you had an official copy of Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 installed on your machine, you could upgrade to Windows 10 free of charge. It was a very convenient gift for users and a sure way […]

But I have no idea why you should have to reserve it... do they are afraid at Errorsoft that they will not have enough online-copies ?

Microsoft is hoping that everyone with a PC running Windows 7 or Windows 8 will upgrade to Windows 10, that’s why it’s rolling out that new notification this week. The operating system update is free, but the company hopes you reserve Windows 10 now so that it can prepare you for the upgrade ahead of release.

Once you’ve reserved your digital download, Windows Update will download the upgrade for you the moment it’s available. It’ll be up to you to install it, but you’ll already have all the files you need on your PC. Reserve Windows 10 now and avoid the mad rush of people all trying to download the operating system at the same time on release day.

Have been playing with win10 IoT for awhile. I have been using it to flash my RK's (ALL) 30,31,&32 with no problems as of yet. Win10 as an operating system is good, still do not like the MS Office ribbon Style used for folder structure. They (MS) are still talking RK Arm support this year. The reservation for win 7.1 and above is a windows update which will be loaded between now and July 29th on your computer. I believe that this could be the Y2K type disaster which never happened the morning of the 30th when we all turn on those window computers.

If you find that you are not getting the reservation icon on your system, then running this batch file will ensure it.

One of the likely reasons for the reservation is that because July 29 might kill a whole host of servers with millions downloading 10, it may well be downloaded to your machine earlier and be ready for installtion on 29th.

I 've tried it my self and some other people in a greek forum and doesn't work for us one member state that it is because of that pipo x7 is a 32 bit uefi built and the launch of win 10 maybe will not be launch 32 bit

There is an error in the batch file for Windows 8.1. There are two identical entries/statement for 3035583. Change the second 3035583 to 2976978.

Requirement for Windows 8.1 to work, you need to install both
                      KB3035583
                      KB2976978

                      For Windows 7 SP1:
                      KB3035583
                      KB2952664

Attached ZIP file for fixed win10fix_full.bat
                      Tested working for Windows 8.1 32-bit and 64-bit, Windows 7.1 64-bit

                          Hi,

                          It doesn't work for me.

The update KB3035583 was corrupted, sub directory Dowloadswap was missing (C:\Windows\System32\GWX\DownloadSwap)
So I have uninstalled this Windows update.

But then, can't find it !

So found this on the web and it works for me :
                          1. Download kb3035583 x86 file below

                          http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/...7a412e41ee.cab
                          2. Copy cab file to C:\temp
                          3. Open command prompt with elevated (right click with administrator rights)
                          4. Copy and paste x86 DISM command below then press Enter

                          DISM /Online /Add-Package /PackagePath:c:\temp\windows8.1-kb3035583-x86_dc717b43d95c7fd7c12fee2f13e0b17a412e41ee.cab

                          5. After installed cab file then Windows 10 icon will pop up

kb3035583 was not installed on my Pipo X7S, so i started with the download en followed your directions.
The Windows icon popped up and i was able to make the reservation for Windows 10 on the Pipo X7S

BTW, All other suggestions didn't work on my Pipo, however did worked on 2 of my laptops.

I've been running win10 preview (32bit) on mine for the last week and I've been really impressed.... leagues ahead of win8.1... but then I'm a win7 Luddite

edit: deleted "Peter have you got x64 running on your PipoX7?"
I've been reading and it looks like the UEFI BIOS is 32bit only, even though the CPU's are 64bit.
