Hi, I would like to know what roms (stock and custom) can I install in this box. The original firmware is not rooted
What model is it?

That looks like the board which is in my MXQ. Just about every rom I downloaded for it had network issues where the connection would be lost after 15 mins or so. If you aren't too bothered about Android and just want to use the box for Kodi then try the HD18Q version of OpenElec by Kszaq: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...mk808b-and-mxq

Thanks, but there's not much info there, and roms are older. I still have no idea what I've bought, There are many similar clones, but many times the only thing they have in common is just the SOC and the outside box. If you apply a different rom many times you will have problems like wifi disconnecting. I don't know where to get roms

I need a full android, as I use many other apps (well the device is for the family, not me). Openelec is awesome, I already installed SPMC app instead, a kodi fork with some specific android fixes

I would like to know where can I get newer roms stock or custom, or even compile them froms source, that's all.
There's some info on how to compile android or even debian for this soc, so I'm still hopefull

I need root at least to modify configurations and use some apps like Autostarts and Greenify.
There are some bugs in the included rom, youtube pauses many times, and for what I've seen, that could be fixed maybe by increasing the tcp buffers or cache, but I need root.
Also many apps are not avaliable in the playstore, I think this can be fixed by modifying some file that identifies the device and put something like nexus 10 there... but I need root
