CX-919 Quad Core TV Stick With External WIFI Antenna,More detail on Geekbuying.com

    Hi guys:
Since this sub-form called" measy & CX TV PLAYER", so i think i will add more CX series TV STICK Information here.

If you already get the CX-803 before, then you should know, this CX series factory like a external antenna design, this also apply for their quad core model CX-919.

The CX-919 has some different version, like 2G RAM version, 1G ram version, but we better like the 2G version for better performance. both of them all use the AP6210 wifi chipset.

You can read more information from our listing here:

    Thanks Geekbuying for the info.

This unit interests me, so I have some questions.

Does it work as advertised? Does it overheat? Is the wi-fi steady? Is it rootable?

Also is the unit ready to ship right now?

    Thanks.

      Hi
this CX-919 is now in stock, and ready for ship.

it is rootable, you can follow the root instruction here

      the wifi signal is excellent, because it has the external wifi antenna;
      it has the heatsink also.

and bob will do a custom rom for this CX-919 soon.

using cx-919 and I leave it on overnight and it does not overheat. no drops after 10 days liking it so far just waiting for finless rom. Tried 4 models and a close second for me was the cs868(better graphics and quicker file loading)

            US Plug CX-919

Just noticed that this is shipping at Geekbuying now. Item listing says it has Android 4.1.1 OS. Curious to know if it has the same problems as the Tronsmart T428 as far as 3D gaming stuttering and poor H/W decoding on Hi-Def video playback.

video is smooth using mx hw setting. hw+ sometimes but most of the time its just a scrambled picture, I guess it depends on the source.

Hey I'm really interested about knowing this, I've had my eyes on that stick since I saw it on geekbuying.
I like the idea of a built in external antenna, but also here are a few question:

I did my research on the MK908 WiFi/BT chip is also the AP6210, (NOT THE T428)

Wouldn't that mean that the Finless Rom 1.4a 4.1.1 JB for the MK908 is compatible 100% with this ?

as usually roms of the same chip are compatible, except for the WiFi/BT chip, that was different.

If that's the case then can people who have this TV Stick, test out the ROM?
and report back if WiFi/BT is working? ( Please )

Anyways, I think This will be my first Quad core purchase, I got very close to buying the MK908, but, I think this will be my first rk3188 purchase >_< I hope it's a good choice, from what I read from the comments on this forum, People seem to be liking it.

                          cx-919 security tab

One thing I just noticed is the security tab is missing in the settings screen on the cx-919. Every other stick I've tested the security tab is there. What does this mean?

No idea, but I need someone to test putting the finless rom on it, the mk908, might fix that security tab thing ?
