    Willing to pay for a couple hours of support .. Please help.

    Hey Everyone.

    So for weeks I have been scouring the internet looking for answer but have fallen short of finding a solution.

    Here's the problem.

    I'm a box reseller and I am simply trying to take a complete setup off my dev box (my version of kodi, apks, settings like time etc.) just a complete setup - get it off an M8 box and put it onto other M8 boxes.

    I can not for the life of me figure out how to do a backup of the rom - firmware to flash it to other devices.

    Currently I am having to do the following.

    1. Boot up new device
    2. Launch kodi
    3. unisntall kodi
    4. reinstall kodi
    5. launch, test kodi, close kodi
    6. apply all settings, time, etc.
    7. install all apks from USB

    even then sometimes kodi wont even load pass a black screen and i have to do a factory reset and start over
    or
    somehow there is still data like addons that get migrated into my version of kodi

    If someone can please help me figure out a solution Im willing to pay $20 hour for your time via skype. Thanks.

      I had issues with 1 of 4 MK808b Plus devices, it could not see any WiFI... i flashed rom to OpenElec and all was working... I flashed stock back it was broken again.

      If you are not too fussy about installing APK files and having Android as the OS, and your'e happy with just Kodi just want to use Kodi then I recommend trying OpenElec. I have made a Pre Configured backup with all the best addons. I have PM'd a mod to check if I am allowed to post it in the forum.

        alloret10 ... Yes the box comes rooted. I have been doing some reading and I think it might be possible to do a backup of the box using TWRP, but have not found a good how to.

        mscrosse I'm also willing to pitch in... if you find someone to help with this.

        ace9094 ... I completely agree with you... OpenElec is by far the best/fastest OS i have tried in these boxes. The problem comes when you try to troubleshoot remotely. With Android you can install teamviewer. Not sure what can be use for OpenElec. Any ideas???

          Go to the Playstore and type in Helium (Helium - App Sync and Backup) and then spend time learning how to use it, it is pretty much the easiest way to achieve a large part of what your after

              I pmed him offering what he requested and some additional stuff. Such as remote update, spmc refresh, and logos. If interested you can check out my mk808 b plus rom. Its the rom i use on my boxes i sell except a few alterations. I collect boxes and if I don't have one I'll do work for a box. I sell them so i have experience to help minimize support after sale.

                      Since you didn't provide a link to your stock recovery i used one from Acemax MXQ.

                      Test this recovery. - https://www.freak-tab.de/abdul_pt/am....8.7.0_MXQ.img

                      Download and rename to recovery.img
                      Place on root of External SD and reboot the device, you might need to press the reset switch if one exists.
                      Backup your rom to the external SD, remove the SD and restore the backup on another device using the same procedure.
                      if [ $up.post.type = $type.two.lazy.to_use_google ] || [ $up.post.type = $type.silly_question ];
                      then mv $user.contact.up.post /.trash; set response($response.type = ignore);
                      $user.up.post.ignore_in_future = true; fi;

                            abdul_pt .... Sorry for the late reply. Have been working like crazy for the last couple of weeks. I have made a backup of one of my boxes, but to my surprise the new boxes that came in the mail are not rooted... The variance in the configuration of these MXQ boxes is ridiculous. I am currently looking for a replacement model (maybe the Beelink X2 H3) to start the process again.
