Pipo M1 RileyROM beta with Android 4.2.2

It looks like Pipo is tinkering with Android 4.2.2 a little, as they have released a firmware for their M1 3066 tablet with 4.2.2.

I've taken this firmware and rooted it and put the usual touches on it for Freaktab members. It has 2gb user app space and fix for Google Play Store.

I do not have this tablet to test on...this ROM booted on my M5, but since the 4.2.2 kernel is for the M1, the screen was not functional.

If anyone wants to test this and let me know, I'll take it a step further and release a 1.0 version.

i wonder if this system.img is compatible with a tv stick.
its the same cpu and gpu.

I used the system.img on the ug007 II
Its boot, but weird screen verry low.
I wonder if we can port files from the original to this system.img
So we have a working 4.2 instead of a 4.1

I'm not sure, Snakey. I tried booting this ROM on my M5 with the M5 kernel in place of the M1 kernel, but it wouldn't boot. I guess there is enough different between 4.1 and 4.2 in the kernel to prevent that.

I did try the M1 kernel on M5 afterwards...and got it to boot, but the touch screen didn't work and the screen had weird colors.

As far as apps and UI elements, your guess is as good as mine...feel free to try.

I have a 4.2.2 beta running on my Pipo U30GT2 and I really like it. The notification bar is back on top like it was in Froyo/Gingerbread. The soft buttons are on the bottom but centered instead of all the way to the left (that is a challenge to relearn in the dark).

I flashed the rom but not root and has 1 gb app (not 2 gb). I think it is stock rom.

I would like to install the fly-on mod in this Rom:

Requirements:

- Android 2.3.x (Gingerbread) or higher.
- Kernel with init.d support.
- Root and newest busyBox version.
-Custom recovery(like CWM or TWRP).
- At least 4MB of free space in "/system"

I think the only problem is the CWM.Is it possible to flash CWM after installing the ROM?

You just need to rename the recovery.img to something else in the RileyROM folder.

Then copy the generic CWM recovery over to this folder as recovery.img.

Start the flash tool and uncheck everything except recovery.img.

Don't erase IDB.

Flash just the recovery.img.

That's it!!!!!
