    Beelink S82 Plus S812 Openelec????

Hey just wondering if anyone has been working on an Openelec version for the Beelink S82 Plus or even the MXiii Plus both units are S812 chipset boxes. Gearbest has a really sweet price for the S82 Plus model that is just a few bucks more than the MXiii 2GB. If anyone has or knows of an OpenElec firmware that works please let me know. I wanna get an S82 Plus if I can get Openelec working on it.

I'm waiting for mine to arrive, but I am planning to leave it on Android. Are there any ROMs, etc. for this player out yet ? I know that Beelink have been consuming many features this site has contributed, but would still be nice to have a 3rd party android option.

I have ported OpenElec to the Beelink S82 Plus.

It's still a pre-release but you can try it and provide feedback:

mirrorupload.net ist die beste Quelle für alle Informationen die Sie suchen. Von allgemeinen Themen bis hin zu speziellen Sachverhalten, finden Sie auf mirrorupload.net alles. Wir hoffen, dass Sie hier das Gesuchte finden!

Some buttons of the remote do not work: OK, mouse and maybe some other.

Wifi, wired network, accelerated video, audio, etc do work.

Please report anything you find so that I can fix it.

omg wow thanks a lot for posting this bro.
I was able to have it boot up and get going but the wifi connection both 2.4ghz and 5ghz wont connect, I can see the networks but 99% of the time it will say connection failure. I also tried the LAN port and it would also fail. I ended up buying a USB3 to Gigabit LAN dongle and that worked beautifully. Do you have any new updates for the unit yet? I will keep playing around as I need kodi 15 for the pvr.stalker so would love to use this openelec in my living room with it.

              Thank you for trying it

It works fine for me but it indeed has trouble connecting to the wifi.

The problem I have seen in my unit is the wifi chip takes a lot of time to get ready, so Kodi would be available but the wifi chip woud not be ready. If you wait a bit (a few minutes, which is a very long time), it should connect automatically.

Also, what kind of protection are you using in your network? WEP? WPA? WPA2 with TKIP? WPA2 with AES? Could you please try with no protection (open wifi network) and then with WPA2 with TKIP and tell me if one works better than the other?

                hey zxspectrum

so changing from WPA2 AES to NO ENCRYPTION did no such help. it still connects about 10% of the time and that too after many tries and getting the Failure status. I do however notice that on 5GHz it connects more often at about 33% of the time. If we can get this working this will be the best box available. BTW the LAN PORT works 100% of the time if I disable the wireless connection completely.

Click on Parent Directory to see all build versions. They have builds for your M8S and many more.

Yes, I think I got it working. I have tested with a couple of WPA2 wifi networks and it works fine for me. Please try and report:

                            Glad to know.

There are a couple of things that seem to work not-so-well:
                            • Not all of the buttons in the remote work yet
                            • If I power on the S82 Plus with the TV off, then switch on the TV, there is no image on screen. But it may be because I am connecting to a DVI monitor using a HDMI > DVI adapter which is not transmitting CEC information.
Could you please confirm? (I only have one S82 Plus)

I don't use the remote that comes with it. I really hate it. I use a mygica kr-40 remote it works well for me. I havnt seen the power on issue but I am using a hdmi switch I will remove the switch and connect it directly to the tv and test it out for u
