    Libmedia.so hack for T-R42 v2 (B351_BT 2.0 board)

I am having issues getting 5.1 passthrough working on my T-R42 (B351_BT 2.0).

I believe that all I need is a hacked libmedia.so file and a modified Kodi build.

I have spent all afternoon googling for a download file for my device but have failed miserably. There seems to be versions for other devices X7, RK3288 and others but none for my device. The X7 ones that I found seemed to have different versions for different firmware so that made me think it is not just a single file for all RK3188 devices.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I am currently on Wasser 1.0.4 ROM but am happy to go back to a JellyBean ROM or other custom ROM if I can get 5.1 output.

    Thanks
    Darren

Without any replies I took the plunge and tried a modified Kodi before more drastic actions of flashing other ROMs, installing unknown libmedia.so files and so on. It worked. I can now watch an ISO image of one of my DVDs stored on my server with my A/V received indicating 5.1 channels.

Simple as that. For the benefit of others that may stumble on this page here is my setup.

Note: Links and text are valid at the time I posted but could change in future (especially the modified Kodi link).

    Solution
    1. My box is T-R42 or clone (B351_V2.0 2013/09/22 1350 mentioned on PCB) (list of pictures of similar hardware http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...-r42#post15478)
    2. My ROM is Wasser 1.04 (from http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...-4-2#post10016) - the one titled "firmware for new revision: wasser-firmware-tr42-new-1.0.4.zip" (link http://www.freak-tab.de/wasser/wasse...-new-1.0.4.zip)
    3. Modified Kodi 14.2 (from http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...a-hack?t=21179) - the one titled "14.2 here: http://filecloud.io/4gjwcm58" (link http://filecloud.io/4gjwcm58)
