How update (and root) MVX AMLOGIC S805 (chiptrick MVX S805 - MBX Pufangda S805)

note: in MXV AMLOGIC S806 the OTG port is no.4

this tutorial may help you to flash in another AMLOGIC S805 devices, the only point that differ is
the OTG port and rom image (if your device has a port name OTG , used it, and download rom
image provided by your AMLOGIC S805 manufacturer)

this tutorial is for (chiptrick) MXV AMLOGIC S805
(windows) install usb burning tools (2.4.3) and drivers
    http://chinagadgetsreviews.com/downl...-v2-0-4-3.html

(windows) download the last rom image and unpack it in a "my documents" folder.
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_R...EwckhCVkk/edit

    (tvbox) remove energy cable
(tvbox) plug a usb male cable in port 4 and connect to PC
(windows) open "usb burning tools" (screen 1)
(tvbox) look at the bottom in tvbox, press and hold the "reset button" and plug power cable
still holding the reset button for 10 seconds, now look in "pc" in the usb burning tool,
your device should be listed and connect to a hub-x port

(windows) in usb buring tool , load the rom image
(windows) and press start (and wait a few minutes...)
(windows) and you got the message (Burning Successfully), press "stop" button (screen 2)
    (tvbox) remove power cable

process is finished, plug in tv box in you tv and power up it...
    now your device is updated

===but if you need to root===
now you can root it easy installing and running "kingo root apk"...

after run king root apk, press root but and wait...
after root it, remove king root and leave only the "king user" application..

    Hi baraozemo,
After the update my device wont turn on unless I keep pressing power button. Wont turn on with remote and is taking too long to shutdown with the remote too. I can only turn it back on pressing power button (keep pressing for about 5 seconds) if I don't it's shutdown at S805 screen.
Is there a workarround or a older firmware that I can try.

      Hi, same problem here.
fabioaos did you find any other firmware that fixes this bugs? Since yesterday my box freezes randomly, so i really need to try other firmware.

No unfortunately no. About freezing if you use wireless instead of RJ45 it should be better.
I flashed with this rom and I have to keep power button pressed or it just wont start.
With Ethernet the speed I get is about 5Mbps with wireless is 18~20Mbps

I am using wireless connection because since i flash this firmware, the RJ45 freezes the box. But since yesterday, the box start freezing randomly even in wireless. Later i will try to re-flash the box.
No one has the stock rom for MXV?

Hello. I have bought a MXV box from here:

I requested the stock firmware and they sent this link to me:

I don't know if there is any newer version of the firmware...

I anyone have a newer version, please share it with us.

              Hi mwp1,
Do you like the box? What is the RJ45 speed?

Hi mwp1 very good firmware solved some of my problems. Ethernet at full speed non freezing the box. I still have to keep pressing the power button.
The rom is not rooted. Did you root it after? If so can you explain how?

                    Hello fabioaos
I am currently using kszaq Openelec 5.95.5.2 HD18Q on SDCard for my MXV box. The problem is that WIFI doens't work, only ethernet . You also have to copy remote.cnf to config to make remote control work. Except for that, openelec works really well with MXV.
The problem of turning on with remote control is that the bootloader have to recognize the remote control, and there are several different remote controls for these box out there...
                    .

That is good to know, thanks for the info. Curious if the MXV outputs 1080p running OpenELEC. Gearbest is selling 50 a day for the next couple of days for $29.99. I might have to grab one at that price.
                      Good day.

Hi mwp1 I have the remote of the box. My problem isn't the remote (I think) is when you see the logo S805 at boot if you don't keep the power button pressed ( 5~10 sec) the MXV shut's down (red led on).
I think I will try Openelec Witch rom do you use for mk808+ or mxq?Or there is one for MXV

There is no specific openelec ROM for MXV, but I am using the HD18Q (all black MXQ). It works, but without WiFi... I never had this problem of keeping power button pressed for 5 sec during power on...
I had to manually set 1080p60 in kodi, and it is working, including the auto shift to 1080p24.
If you are interested in Android firmware, i read that finless ROM for mk808b+ also worked with mxv, but i didn't try it yet. Maybe next weekend...

I already tried Mk808b+ but I had to stay pressing power button or it would shutdown. I will read more about openelec to give it a try.
                            Thank you
