Android box turns off TV when powered on

So I've setup quite a few MXQ S805 boxes for family and close friends. I've had no issues with 95% of the setups but a couple of times now I've run into a strange issue.
On both a Sony TV and a Toshiba TV, when the MXQ is powered on, it shuts the TV off after about 15-20 mins. I've tried different firmware versions for the box and all that I've tried do not fix this.

Anyone experience this or have any suggestions on how to resolve???

I don't own the MXQ, but I wonder if it is CEC related. MXQ sleeps, TV sleeps. Or is this occurring while you are using the MXQ?

It happens while the MXQ is being used. It even happens during playback in Kodi or just navigating/using other apps.

It's my brother's TV and I've suggested he turn off CEC on his TV. I'm also suggesting that he changes the MXQ resolution settings from HDMI Auto to fixed 720p60 to see if that helps.
