Decent UK source of a reasonably priced genuine M8??

    I'm not having much luck
I bought a Jbonest OTT 4K M8 from Amazon and it's allowed all flashing and has always worked properly.

I didn't want another keyboard or pay £63 so I bought another OTT 4K M8 from Amazon BUT this has been crap from the off and is now bricked!!
The blue light always stayed on. I managed to flash JustMEv1.7 ROM and it was OK but blue light still always on. So I thought I would try Finless, but then I found it will not go into recovery (using toothpick) - blank TV screen every time.
I tried different *.img files on the SD card but it simply won't start in recovery mode
I took it apart to find it's a clone PCB says HTC-M8-MB-V1 2015-03-12. (Photo Added)

    I don't think it's recoverable???

So please could someone recommend a reasonably priced ~ £50 UK M8 or maybe some over device for a little extra money

Sadly, there is no UK retailer for pretty much anything Chinese made.

Best bet would be to order from reputable Chinese websites, like Dealextreme or Geekbuying.

Buying from amazon or **** is a minefield, you need an official to get the support.

Well I've now unbricked this M8

      (1) Made up a Male to Male USB (not OTG).
      (2) Downloaded Amlogic Windows Burning Tools - http://www.mediafire.com/download/jm...ogic_tools.rar
      (3) Downloaded Probox2 Ex Image file - http://probox2.com/?wpdmact=process&...UuaG90bGluaw==
      (4) Connected USB to outside USB.
      (5) Ran software and loaded image - in my case it detected unknown on HUB4 or something like that.
      (6) Pulled the power and then pressed reset.
      (7) Reconnected the power and kept holding down the reset button.
      (8) Started the flash.

Only down side is that the outside USB no longer works.

Best thing is that the blue light now goes off when the unit is turned off my the remote control

Trouble is they want £125!!! - Luckily my box is working again, although after flashing JustMe Rom 1.7 the blue LED is staying on all the time again

I got an error the first time, but when i re-flashed while holding down the reset (until the flash completed) it worked fine

Hi mate, your box is similar to mine, would like to ask a few questions if you don't mind:

                      - Until step 8, I assume they are done on PC?
                      - Once step 8 is done, I can then connect to TV to test?
                      - Out of curiousity, can you then reflash it to load OpenELEC?

                      Many thanks!

yes up to and including step 8 done with a PC ( make sure the male to male 1:1 usb lead is connected to the outer usb socket on the M8)
Since flashed (if it bombs out, just try again) you can flash any ROM using the tooth pick method as normal

When I plug to the outer (assuming outer = not the one next to HDMI), should blue LED be on or not?

It doesn't matter wether the blue light is on when you connect the USB but obviously you have to turn the M8 off and then restart the M8 holding the reset down. The M8 should appear in the flashing device list - then start the flash ( you can probably release the reset once the flashing has started)
