Custom cases and mods
I have been tinkering with different ideas for cases and mods for my MK808. This is what I am currently using(still a work in progress). It is an old fan cooled HDD enclosure I had. I replaced the fan with a 5V one from a laptop cooling pad I had. I had to enlarge one of the holes where a switch was and cut one in the grating but otherwise pretty straight forward. The antennae is from an old Belkin wireless router so just had to solder to the antennae posts. If you have a custom case or mod please post pics. Would love to see new ideas.Tags: None

That looks nice! I hope that's a very low RPM fan, i assume the previous fan was a 12v one, didn't it move enough air when you just connected that one to 5v? Also from what i can tell that casing is almost made of a single piece of aluminium. It would really kick ass if you could find a way to connect the SOC to the casing and use it as a giant passive heatsink.Maybe just by putting a small aluminium of copper block between the SOC and the casing with some thermal paste/adhesive. There would be no need for a fan at all and you can keep it completely silent.

- MK808 with Finless MK808 1.7c ROM and 2Dark4U 1.4 MK808 1080p overclock kernel.

Actually never tried the 12V fan - I had a 5V from an old laptop cooler. Put it in because I will be able to solder it to board and remove need for the usb plug on it. the factory heatsink works fine with all the airflow so no need to replace(I am running Lewy's 2.2.3 720p set to performance). The fan is so quiet you don't even notice it running actually.

Oke niceJust so you know you could have just soldered the 12v fan to the board. It would just have rotated at a much lower RPM than it normally would. Unless of course it already has a very low RPM fan and maybe with 5v it wouldn't rotate at all.
But excellent mod!- UG007-II with Finless iMito MX1/2 1.7a ROM and UG802 2Dark4U 1080p overclock kernel and USB WIFI dongle.

Hmmm.... I am wondering if we should make a case mod or hardware mod forum here....
Thoughts?

Nice case mod Horrorzilla.
In case others haven't seen mine here's a link. http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...modded-MK809ll
Bob, a modding forum would be a great place to keep these ideas all together.

I got rid of the case I made. This is how mine looks now...
-NorthBridge P4 motherboard heatsink on the CPU using Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste (1.6GHz OnDemand and you cant feel any heat coming off this thing)
-VRAM GPU heatsinks on the NAND and RAM.
-Zoom GamePoint 4412 antennas to replace OEM antennas (much better signal)TV Stick: MK808 // Tronsmart T428
ROM: Finless 1.7c w/Pimp My Rom // Nexus SDK2 Multi-Window v1.2
CPU: @1.6GHz OnDemand Governor NOOP I/O Scheduler
Recovery: ClockworkMod
Kernel: Omegamoon // 1080p OC kernel 720ddr 1.9cpu
Phone: Samsung Galaxy Note II
ROM: Whompasaurus v4.2
Kernel: Persus
