MK808B + HDMI to DVI + Computer Monitor = flashing display?

    Hello!
So I'm stumped. bought my MK808B and it works fantastically plugged straight into an HDMI port on a TV.

My needs for the device though require a computer monitor. Specifically, this one here:
    An HP LA1905WG 19" LCD Monitor http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824276061

The monitor has DVI, VGA, and DisplayPort connections, which means I needed an adapter. So I purchased a Startech HDMI to DVI adapter, which is where the problems exist.

Using my adapter to connect my droid stick to the monitor rarely ever works. Most of the time, the monitor will immediately "Go to sleep" when plugged into the 808B. Another part of the time, the loading screen will pop up a couple of times before finally displaying the "Going to sleep" message again right when it should be done booting. And just once or twice (for whatever reason it was) I was able to get maybe 30 minutes of actual usage out of the thing, before I decided to take it all apart to see if I could consistently get it to display on the monitor. Which it didn't, right back to the "going to sleep."

The weirdest part, is that as soon as I unplug my droid stick (weather it has power running to it or not) my monitor wakes up and says "Check video cable," which has me all sorts of puzzled.

Anyone else have this sort of trouble? I'm all ears for ways to remedy this.

Are you sure that your monitor can handle the resolution your stick delivers?

Phinc, I'm not sure what resolution the droid puts out and what res the monitor can handle. I've never thought of that though.

Prahjister, were you able to fix your problem?
