    Pipo M8 Pro 3188 RileyROM 1.0

Pipo has released an interesting tablet with a 9.4" screen. I've ordered one from Geekbuying.com and it should be here in a few days.

In the meantime, I have already done a ROM for this tablet, so I'm posting it now in hopes of getting some comments.

This ROM is rooted, with init.d support, Google Play Store fixes and multiple choices of user app space. The default is 2gb, but you can change out the parameter files in the RileyROM folder to whichever size you want...4g, 6g or 8g. (Thanks to 900Supersport for the ROM kit and the parameter files).

Also thanks to Tattman65 for providing the boot graphics.

    So, here is the ROM:

If this is the first time you are flashing one of our ROM's, you may encounter some challenges in installing Windows drivers. Please download this First Time User Guide to help you throught he process:

It looks like I got a little overzealous with the debloat on my first try for this ROM.

The good news is that I just got my own M8 Pro today. It took only 2 days for Geekbuying.com to send it to me.

I tweaked the ROM a little and tested it and everything works, now. I'm uploading the update, so give it an hour or so.

        Re: Pipo M8 Pro 3188 RileyROM 1.0

Hmmmm....it appears that not many people have the new M8 Pro yet...but I think it will be very popular.

I noticed yesterday that Pipo has released a new firmware for this model but since I can't read Chinese I have no idea what was changed in the new version. Yes, I use Google Translate...but link buttons don't translate so I can't find any change logs. So don't ask me...just go to the Pipo site and take a look.

The good news is that I have cooked a new ROM based on this 5/9/13 firmware release. I'm still testing it...awaiting a new bootanimation from Tatty. My Antutu score went from 14406 to 16625 with this new ROM. I had to remove a sizable amount of bloat from the new firmware....they tried to throw in everything on this one...including some features that make you enter a passcode to run....I got rid of all of that.

This new version will have CWM Recovery as the default...but ill include the stock recovery if you want it. There will be a few hoops you will need to jump through on the first boot...but ill write a new readme file to explain everything.

Also since I had to create new parameters, I included some choices on the user app space you prefer. You will have 2gb, 4gb, 6gb and 8gb to choose from. I'm happy with the default 2gb myself...but others want more.

Stay tuned. I will create a new thread for the update.

In the meantime, though...this first ROM works just fine.
