    1.0 Sharp Aquas 42" 1080i -NO audio, Video 720P OK (Stock Rom 4.1.1 & Finless 1.4)
2.0 TV Panasonic TH-42PY800P – NO audio, video OK (Stock Rom 4.1.1 & Finless 1.4)
3.0 Sharp unknown model - NO audio (by AndroidKing see #8)
4.0 Toshiba and Sharp unknown model-NO audio (Stock Rom 4.1.1)(see #9-solved by HDMI Switch)

Confirm same HDMI audio issue on my devices and MK908 on stock ROM

    1. TV: Sony KDL - 52 Z5500 - NO audio, Video all ok
    2. AV Receiver: Pioneer SC LX 85 - NO audio, Video all ok.

Both not best on HDMI handshake but MK908 stick is only device with not fixable HDMI issue.
I will check if some cheap HDMI Switch will be a workaround in my environments as well.

Thanks for creating tread for the issue. Good to see I am not the only one having that audio issue.

Today I changed my hdmi wire for a new one, and I experienced that sound not work, I plugged and unplugged the device, replaced the new for the old wire, and no sound in my tv, in my pcscreen the stick sound good with both wires, and it start to work suddenly in my tv after I disconect the tv from AC and it start to works fine, please try to connect to ac the tv with the stick powered and conected to the tv.

I have tried your method and it didn't work for me. Not really sure whether it is driver problem or insufficient power to HDMI port.

I have hooked my mk908 up to my Yamaha NeoHD YMC-700 (receiver, A/V input switch) and do not have working sound with stock ROM. I haven't yet tried my TV directly nor tried an HDMI switch.

display, video seem fine so far.

              Hi Leolas,

following your method did solve the Audio issue on my Sony TV.
              - Powered off the Sony TV (not only standby - not sure if it makes a differences)
              - Plugged in the stick to one of the TVs HDMI ports and powered up the stick.
              - After few minutes I turned on the power on the TV.
              - and voila -> Audio and Video is working now.

Following your advise did solve the Audio issue on my TV.
Once the Audio worked once it remains working even if starting device is different sequence.

              Many thanks for your help.

Before runnig the test my stick was updated to Finless ROM 1.4.

No change on the Pioneer AV receiver. Don't get Audio working regarless what I tried.

              @bkling

you may want to update your list in the initial post for the Sony TV?

5.0 Sony KDL - 52 Z5500 - Audio OK (stereo), Video ok - Finless 1.4 (for initinal handshake connect the running stick to the TV before powering up the TV)

              Thanks to both of you.

Nice, I supose that in some decices the tv keep or expect diferent HDMI configuration. This issue happened to me only once time, and in only 1 of my tvs.

Get inspiration from leolas, I just tried again and this time round, I used new Ipad power supply, I changed the USB cable (power supply) to the thickness I can get. I used back the same HDMI cable sticking out from my TV(all along i did not use the stock HDMI cable) and finally followed the magic sequent as stated by Leolas...Wolahhhhh...it works this time round.

However, same setting, same cable and same sequent as above but I swapped back to the stock power supply, no more audio. As such for my case, it is clearly the stock power supply is the main culprit.

                        Possible Fix Using BT

Just adding the Panasonic TC-PS42S1 (42inch, plasma, 1080p) TV to the list that gets video, but no audio.

However, I had an old logitech bluetooth receiver hanging around (link below), so I hooked the MK908 BT to the receiver, changed audio input on the TV to component instead of HDMI, and now I have both audio and video. At first, I was afraid there would be a delay, but that has not been a problem yet.

I will try Leolas suggested fix tonight, to see if that works too.

I connected the 908 directly to my Dynex 42" plasma/720p and was able to audio just fine.
