M8H S812 Need help with root

Hi, I'm new to the TV box scene. I've lurked around here and there but can't find anything to root this box.
I purchased from Amazon

Here are the specs from cpu z app

You can see in the image " root access no"
Other than no root, box is running good, it came with kodi 14.1 & 4.4, playstore also works but I do get the "not compatible" on some apps.
Maybe I'll try Kingo root, but I don't want to F..around & brick it yet, I just got it.

Any help would be great. THANKS

Guy the root and boot is locked out now on all androids 4.4 or greater!!!I wish I knew how to unlock it!
Here is a hint....go to settings then to About media box.....then to Build Number....click OK about 7 times it will say that you have Developer status now click the Return button and
you have access to the Developer Options from here you may be able to figure out what comes next...everything I tried has so far not worked!!!
Please let me know if you succeed and how you did it....I would love to be able to flash Openelec on to it since that makes these machines Run Fabulous!!!
