M8S acemax and eny: basically the same?

Are acemax and eny the same? I have an M8S from acemax and it's firmware it's better than the one from the M8S eny box. If they are basically the same company, would it hurt to try the acemax firmware on the eny box? apologies if this is a noob question.

Open up the box and take a pic of the board and stuff, would be good to see the internals see what chips you have etc
