    Tronfy X2

Just came across this box, the Tronfy X2. Specs look good with an H3, 1GB/8GB for less than $50. being able to play 4K.
Specs also look a lot like the Beelink X2. Would it be the same board?
Anyone has any experience with this brand before? And will it play 4K smoothly?

it support 4K, and my using experience is good given the low price. the after-sale staff told me that tronfy mx4 telos gigabit box will on sale soon, more expensive yet more powerful.

Rather like the same box is advertised as a Beelink product, this is advertised as being a Tronfly product, there is no mention of it on their website, so don't take it that it is a branded product.

The 'Beelink' X2 is cheaper too and is the same box.

Blues, do you recommend the H3 chip? A friend is thinking of getting a Draco H3 stick, do you think that would work coming from an MK809III?

I'm thinking it may not be a good deal, since it seems to be locked at 720p and upscales to 4k*2k, and has hardware decoding issues, according to your other post.

Hmm.. the Gui/OSD is locked to 720p.. video HW rendering is limit to your screen-settings
-the x1 has a 1080p kernel, perhaps a smart dev/ROM maker can make it work work on other H3 devices

I think that it depends on what your friends priorities are in terms of use.

My Zidoo X1 works very well out of the box for what it is and exceeded my initial expectations.

I do think that these devices could really do with 2Gb RAM though if looking to use it for more purposes as the memory can start to run out very quickly.

But the great bonus I saw when i first starting playing videos was the colour reproduction.

It just looked better to me than all my others.

Whether the Draco H3 is any good I can't say but is likely to be on par with the others, save for having less ports.

The prices of some of the H3 devices is what will sway a lot of people looking for the cheapest possible media player.

Yeah, that's one thing I don't like about it. I suggested the Tronsmart MXIII with more memory.

I wonder if it is due to the chip or some other factor.

The MXIII costs twice as much. HOWEVER, neither have a lot of developer support. I may steer her to an amlogic mk808b.

There are so many to choose from these days that we are both spoiled for choice but equally makes it difficult to pin one down that we know that we will be happy with.

                    Currently I review the box....
But all the values measured so far not worth buying ...
-- bad preformance of Soc anTuTu about 20.000
-- very bad value of 3D-Benchmark Ice Storm 1855
                    -- wrong speed of Wi-Fi
                    -- low RAM
                    -- 4K HDMI only 30Hz
                    -- no Root
                    -- 4.4.2 Android
                    - OTA does not work realy

goodies: ALL anTuTu video test codecs works fine

I belive it is a clone of the Neelink X2 TV Box...

You will never get 4k@60fps with HDMI 1.4, so you can't mark it down on that aspect really.
OTA just isn't there at all, so not a case of not working. Again it's not advertised as having one.

It's essentially exactly the same as the X2 marketed as Beelink.

You could try that X2 image as that does have root.

I don't get this obsession over Antutu scores, especially on TV-Boxes.
People are drooling over breaking 50k points on Antutu on their phone, but what does it tell you? Nothing. E-peen.
I'm not going to use it to run Antutu benchmarks all the time.

And what do you mean with wrong speed of Wi-Fi?

I don't get how you can not get it. Have you ever had a machine that didn't have good enough specs to consistently stream your media? Have you ever had a machine that ran slow, loaded apps slow, skipped frames, Audio dropped out, video stutters?

Antutu is a relative indicator, but it does not directly translate to user satisfaction. Apparently, much manipulation has occurred in order to achieve artificially high scores, by some. Antutu is not the end-all-be-all answer to determining a device's performance or suitability to a certain task. Still, it has some merit.
Likewise, specs are no guaranty of performance/satisfaction either.
