    Performance

Let me first begin by sharing that I have been pleasantly surprised by the performance and quality of this box.

The box quite surprisingly delivers a superb graphics performance on all media.
I have prior experience using CS968, Q7, CS918 MK808B and few others and overall, this box has exceeded in video quality from all of these models.

The box comes complete with Kodi ZDMC installed and is ready to go right out of the box.

The Zidoo performs well on 1080p resolution on Kodi with absolutely no choppiness and any lag whatsoever while all other TV boxes mentioned above so far had struggled for me.

This is a definite improvement we can experience on the Quad Core Mali 400 part.

    Software/User Interface

Software on this device is arguably the best part of the Zidoo X1.

Zidoo developer’s team have done an excellent job in optimizing the hardware to the software with no glitches or bugs and every app that I have used on the X1 was amply supported.

In my experience for most Android TV boxes, software has been weak, and this is a very positive development with Zidoo X1 making it a unique TV box.

This clearly reflects that Zidoo has kept a keen eye on what to add in their Android TV box.

The homescreen layout for Zidoo is very unique and simple to use with all the main apps nicely laid out in a linear fashion.

The user interface is designed such that with a single click you are able to launch your favorite media app from the main menu.

Shortcut keys provided on Zidoo remote is definitely a nice bonus, and takes away the need to add an air remote for most users. However for advanced users you might still require an air remote.

Overall the Zidoo capably does a lot what other boxes do, but also adds an exception to it by adding 4k media playback support and provides a sleek User Interface on a budget.

    Design Quality

The Zidoo box is surprisingly smaller physically, than what my expectations were.

The plastic body on Zidoo is very light there are no vents provided for any convection.

This is not really a disadvantage in my opinion as the box runs very cool despite running HD content for hours and for the most part will not require any vents.

The top surface remained very cool while the bottom of the box does get slightly hot when I touch after having used it for the whole day.

The box has a unique curved body and all the connections are neatly tugged underneath with a cover, hence the IP rating should be significantly better due to its unique shape.

    Internet Speed Performance

Zidoo has a quick ping response times on the network and the Internet speed test shows full speed when I ran Ookla speed test on my 25MB account. Click image for larger version

    Geekbench Benchmark Reference

Here is the Geekbench 3 score for reference, not sure how it stands in comparison to similar boxes but I thought I should add it as a reference to whoever may wish to compare. Click image for larger version

    Conclusion:
Despite being an owner of many TV boxes from various brands, Zidoo has now replaced them all as my main media player.
So, If you are looking for a budget 4K TV Box with optimized user interface and superior graphics performance then Zidoo definitely gets my two thumbs up.
