    MK808B Plus - can't get into recovery

I have an MK808B plus. It works great, with the exception of Netflix not playing smoothly. I thought flashing with Finless ROM might fix that, but i can't seem to get into recovery. Here is what i have tried:

    - Holding the reset button when restarting doesnt do anything. If i keep it pressed in, i get the "google TV" splash screen on a loop. Once i let go of the button, the device boots as normal (i.e. proceeds to the "MBOX" splashscreen, then starts).

    - Using "Petrus Reboot" and selecting reboot to recovery, the device reboots as normal.

    - Connecting to PC via OTG port, i cannot get any of the USB flash tools to recognize the device. (MoboRobo can see and interact with it).

Any suggestions of what to try next would be greatly appreciated!

Disconnect your stick from all power sources, then, while holding down the reset button, connect the power cable to the mini USB port vis-a-vis of the HDMI connector. When the power LED lights up, you can release the reset button.

when I do that, the device boots up as normal.

Are you sure that the reset button is actually pressed? I personally never managed to press the button with a paperclip so i always opened the case and pressed the button with my finger. Maybe also try to let it pressed until you see the first boot logo.
Do you have a recovery.img file on the root of your SD card?
Is your SD card formatted with FAT or FAT32

Positive the button is pressed. I can hear/feel it. Also, if I keep it pressed in, the "Google TV" splash screen stays on a loop. Only when I let go does it proceed to the "Mbox" splash screen.

SD card has recovery.img, and is FAT32. Should I try FAT instead?

FAT32 is okay. NTFS or exFAT would have been a problem. It is very strange that it does not work for you. I am slowly running out of ideas.
One last thought: Try disconnecting everything, also SD card and keyboard/mouse etc. Just leave the HDMI connected. Then try again. This should bring you to the stock android recovery. Maybe we can isolate the problem that way.

              That worked, thanks!
I guess my SD card was preventing it from going into recovery mode for some reason...

              Really appreciate your help phinc!

Great! Maybe flashing works with another SD card.
