Cause of screen flicker?

I have an MK809II with Finless 1.7a Imito MX1/MX2 ROM (1080p) installed. I sometimes get quite bad screen flicker, seemingly when running apps that put the CPU under quite heavy load. This also only seems to happen when I've had the device on for a few hours and has got quite warm.

Do you think this flicker is likely to be caused by the CPU (not overclocked) overheating or the power supply (the one I got with the device) struggling to provide enough juice? ...or something else?

I have a powered USB hub attached, connected to a HDD, ethernet and a wireless mouse dongle.

I'm using a 3rd party HDMI cable, not the one I got with the device, so I don't think that is the problem.

I think this come´s from your Power Supply for your Stick.
When you put your CPU under load the Power Supply get´s to it´s Limits,
this is the reason for the Screen Flicker.

Buy one with 3A than you are on the safe side.

Thanks. I suspected it was probably the power supply to blame. Funnily enough, the one I got with my device is the same make and model as the one in your second link. Mine just doesn't have the short USB extension lead on it.

The Kindle one does sound good from the reviews but is a bit expensive. Also, will 1.8 amps be enough?

Yes this will be enough. It is a little bit expensive but good. Buying a cheap one is not always a good thing.

OK, I decided to give the AmazonBasics Wall Charger with One USB Outlet 2.1 Amp Output a try. I'll put it through some testing under load and report back whether it fixed my screen flicker, or not.
