    RCA Maven Pro RCT6213W87DK [ROOT]

I may be putting this in the wrong place, if so could a mod move it?

Finally found a way to gain root on the RCA MAven Pro 11 from Walmart ( RCT6213W87DK ) with Lollipop 5.0 with the current update installed (if anyone saved this update a copy might be greatly helpful in creating a custom ROM as I cant find a copy anywhere and my wife installed the update before I could stop her.)

    Install KingRoot v 4.1 xda release http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...x-5-0-t3107461

    Install and run.

Now to deal with all the crap it installs and replace it with SuperSu, I just got root onight so Im working on it and will post the working method for this. Just to clarify, I dont think KingUser does anything hinky I just dont like the way it handles permissions. And I dont like any app that installs anything automatically that I did not ask for. Purify can be uninstalled without issues and since it is pretty intrusive I recommend this pretty much instantly after rooting.

    Update: 08/31/2015
If you have rooted using kingroot DO NOT try to use other programs to remove KingUser and replace it with SuperSu, you will softbrick your device. If you dislike KingUser and its myriad of auto installing, auto root privileged, poorly designed programs, do not use KingRoot until a way to remove it and use SuperSu is found. Do not expect help from KingUser, they are petty and think everyone should use only their SU binaries and programs, and any attempt to do otherwise seems to trigger a system nuke. So fair warning.

I was able to Root mine using KingRoot too, installed some apps and played around with it. Turned it off and back on and now its stuck on the RCA logo. I emailed RCA but my hopes on a fix for this are pretty low. I already tried factory reset on recovery and still does it. Integrity check fails all the time too. I think I bricked

My last attempt to remove kingroot software while keeping root bricked mine as well. Turns out that KingRoot ties its apps into the system so closely that tampering or attempting to remove them without going through KingUser and removing root will cause a soft brick (one reason I wish there were another way to root his tab), and with out a custom recovery and no Stock rom yet there is no way to recover. However I am getting a replacement in a week or two and am going to try and build cwm for it, which will be a step in the right direction. Also if anyone managed to save the update for this tab an Upload would be appreciated. May be able to revive the tab with it, mabey.

I bought one with a broken digitizer but its perfectly usable with the keyboard dock. It prompted me to update so I was thinking I might try to capture this update but I dont know if its doable without root.
Another thing I was thinking about trying was rooting it with kingroot again but this time leave it be instead of trying to replace it with supersu and then dumping the firmware. I'm still afraid to end up with another softbrick tho.

I bought one from Walmart as well. It cuts corners everywhere. However, although Antutu might not score high, what counts is the GPU performance, and surprise surprise, for many benchmarks, it actually performs better than the Nextbook (the one with the phony backlit keyboard).
The only problem is the digitizer. It's very inaccurate. When you enable the dev-mode "show pointer location" feature that comes with Android in the settings menu under the dev options, it show a trailing line where you drag your finger around on the screen. You can also use a drawing app to let you test it. When I draw diagonally, the line comes out all squiggly. When I got the tablet, I noticed right away when in the browser for instance, when I scroll the content up and down slowly, that the window scrolls uneven, jerky. At first I though the tablet had a hard time catching up, but it turned out the digitizer's inaccuracy. If instead of using my finger I use the largest area my thumb will touch the screen, it becomes better. Aside from that, the resolution of the digitizer is too low as well, skipping every 2 or 3 pixels or so. But the vertical inaccuracy makes it suck too much.
So I was wondering if others noticed it too.
I tried dong the "calibration.ini" thing, which didn't do anything. I tried looking for calibration apps, but it seems all fake and none of it does anything. There are no calibration features in the settings. I've tried factory resetting it. I can't find custom roms for it.
I know this is a cheap feeling tablet, but for the money I kind of like it, except that the digitizer is spoiling it. It feels bigger than my A500. I can live with the low resolution screen. Various 3D game apps run very well. Love the touchpad. Keyboard is a little small and the qwerty row is shifted to the left a bit, but my fingers aren't that big, and I can actually live with it. Luckily the keyboard is not weird, with the backslash sitting in the correct spot. Cursor keys are good. There are no function keys, which might become a problem.
Now, if it weren't for that darn sloppy digitizer problem, I'd keep it. I have 1 more week before I must return it. I highly doubt I'll see any responses. These class of tablets are a complete mystery to me. In order for this to be profitable, they must be selling tons and tons of them. Yet, there is very little talk about it online. I don't get it.

It was broken. The two I've had since we're just fine with touch. Though most of the time I use a BT keyboard n mouse

Hi there, quick question. Has anyone tried to use Super-sume to remove kingroot and install supersu?

That is what soft bricked me the first time. Until someone can get a root method that doesnt include the king root software to work from not much can be done. I no longer have one since the brick, other things have taken my interest atm.
