mk808b plus s805 its dead Jim!

My pals poor old MK808B PLUS S805 with the AP6212 wifi chip will not flash with the usb burning tool v2.0.3.

It just stops at 2% then disconnects with the text Romcode/Initialize DDR/Read initialize status/USB Control setup error in red going around in a loop

I've tried a few seemingly appropriate roms on 32bit Windows 7 also Windows 10. same error.

Bizarrely the usb burning tool reports "connect success" without needing to hold the reset button

I've searched all afternoon read many posts, one suggested for another TV box it could be the eMMC is probably corrupted/locked up for some reason and to short pins 13 and 15 but that tv box had jumper points conveniently integrated on the board.

I'm sure this problem has been the death nail of many of these devices, so if anyone knows how to clear the eMMC on the mk808b plus, it would be greatly appreciated. as i'm fresh out of ideas and its gotta be worth a shot

    many thanks

You can short the pins with a needle or a small flat screwdriver. But the pins you have to short are dependent on the manufacturer and model of your NAND chip. So check that first.

I find the nand impossible to read and to be honest could do with upgrading my old nexus 4 :/

who make nand chips with a circled m logo?

On the top left of the nand chip in your photo there is a small dot on the chip.(this is pin one) I think you need to short pin 8&9 to get it in maskrom mode

Take a look over here it may help http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...my-mk808b-plus

One other thing the nand chip is made by Micron

Yeah read that post earlier too. Tried shorting pins 8-9 again. No change.

I had no problem getting the device recognised in windows. It just won't get past the initial stages of flashing.

I have the exact same device but it works fine on the stock ROM so very reluctant to go playing about with it. Would be interesting to see how the burning tool behaves with a perfectly functioning stick tho lol but I won't bother with it anymore.

I Guess its a case of another one bites the dust.

Never know this might get solved one day.

          Thanks for trying guys

crazyflasher - Try removing the SDCard and re-recognize in Windows.
