    Calling all Polaroid PMID-1000D Users...

    Hi to all....

    Not sure if you have checked Polaroid Website for a PMID1000D OTA (Firmware) ... They have put a NON corrupted copy up now..

    ( I have not tried it Yet, as I am currently Using "Elektrik's Expermintal Version")

    New Location of the Firmware... (Thanks Elektrik)

    Thread of what steps I have taken before NOW..
    Goto the last few Post by me and see what I have done...

    While I still have some Lagging ... I have turned OFF 'Windows Animation Scale' and 'Transition Animation Scale' and set the Background Process Limits to 2 (tested 4 also) ... You must set this each time you boot...

    Unless someone tells how to fix it to come up when booted...

    Now I did check my CPU Using this method by dolorespark

    Do I have an A10 or A13? Terminal Emulator app, run "cat /proc/cpuinfo". Look next to the 'Hardware' entry: it should say either "sun4i" (A10) or "sun5i" (A13). If it says anything else, don't use these files.

    Do I have 9 or 10 partitions? Terminal Emulator app, run "cat /proc/partitions". If the last entry is "nandi", you have 9; if it's "nandj", you have 10.

    =============================================
    My PMID 1000D is a ARMv7 (A10) and has 9 partitions...

    So if your is a A10 .... Has anyone tried the "V6 Supercharger" for A10
    If you have what kind of response or change did you notice....

    =============================================
    Now to a easy way to clean the "dalvik cache"

    All you need to do is:
    -Run The Terminal and Type:
    su
    cd /data/dalvik-cache
    rm *
    exit
    -Restart Your Device;
    -Reboot will take a bit longer because you have cleared the cache and it has to be rebuilt.

    Later

    I missed a couple things....

    Hi to All Readers....

    A couple more things...

    Normal boot time is 49 seconds...
    First boot after cleaning the dalvik-cache was 1 min 23 seconds....

    I removed all Widgets except 2 (App Cache Cleaner and Screenshot)

    Widgets use memory all the time... Apk's use memory until you close them down...

    More as I learn it

        P.S. Ed, since you've apparently been using it for a while, is it safe for me to remove the 'experimental' tag?

          Hi "Elektrik" and all other readers.....

          Yes you can remove the 'Experimental Tag' as I have been using it daily since March 16th...

          While I still have some Lagging with the Tablet, I believe it to be more Hardware than and thing
          else...

          Thanks for the updated link on the location of the Firmware ... I did modify the Orginal Post ...

            Update to Orginal Post

            Hi to all Readers...

            Update after a couple days usage ...

            Cleaning the "dalvik-cache" was a big help...

            Setting Background Processes to 4... worked best for the way I use the tablet...

            You must set this after each Boot....

            I personally entered a Note in the Owner Info section... so each time I boot I see the note
            before I swipe to unlock...
            ====================================
            I have read that using a MicroSD class 6 or 10 would improve the Tablets performance...
            While I do not really see how, I am will to try a class 10 ($18.00)
            I am currently using a Class 4 ... and I keep all my PDF's, FLAC's & Videos plus App Backups on
            the external MicroSD...

              Hi I attempted the Supercharger on my pmid1000 (aka pmid10c) and it does not quite work. It wipes out the disk mapping to the internal memory so there is no storage. I did not kill my tablet, I just installed the current firmware (no format of course) and it came back just as it did before the supercharge.

              Have you done anything else to improve the performance?
