Geekbuying and Bob et al

I do NOT believe any more, that Geekbuying is a serious good dealer. They do appear honest on the surface, but can anyone then explain the following?

3 days ago I wrote a review on their WEB SITE with some of the errors we have found on the MK908 they are selling. I am sure that other people also have done reviews. BUT there is STILL ONLY 1 (ONE) review; a 5 STAR, which I suspect GEEKBUYING have done them self!

I also emailed to their service and complained that MK908 not was able to run Skype due to the USB microphone problem. Have GEEKBUYING answered? NO!!

I think a good serious dealer should at least have the decency to allow reviews from Customers and answer complaints.
Maybe I should use Trustpilot?

...without overheating or crashing, then that's a damn good start.

this is it, without a stable system you are lost.
not all need netflix and the rest crap.
and this crap is it even that make the system unstable.

Have you ever considered the company might be very small and doesn't have a big (or any) staff? So maybe the owner was busy or had something else to attend, like talking to the Tronsmart factory about the problems. And also 3 days ago would be Sunday which is not a working day in most countries, including china and even Monday could be very well be a non working day; it was in our country.

You assume bad intent just because you wrote a critical review. But would you have complained when your review was 5 stars and also did not show up in 3 days? My order also took 4 days to get from paid to shipped, so I think he just has a backlog to process. For all I know he could be busy visiting factories to sort your issues, and I think that is more important than handling the review comment backlog.

Furthermore, this is a commercial site, not an impartial review site. So even if more favorable reviews are pushed up, what would you expect? For real reviews look elsewhere, like, for example, here!

Nice Bob, I'll check it out! With your amount of extensive replies on this topic I guess the next Finless ROM will be delayed until this topic get's a lock... It is hard to convince somebody who doesn't want to be.

Regards the chaps review. It does seem particuarly unusual that now the first wave of these have been released that there is only one review on there? ..... but yeah wait another couple of days and I suppose you others that have issues can do your own there. If again nothing appears then your suspicions are valid.

I also dont think reviews on here can be considered a replacement for feedback on the sellers website. That imho is the most appropriate place for them as thats where the buyer goes to purchase and can therefore get a feel for what other buyers think of the product.

BUT

Unfortunately the feedback system can be open to abuse. If they can validate you as a genuine "buyer" like Amazon now do (amazed it took them so long) then I think it should be allowed. If they cant do it then its going to be difficult as it sounds like going from comments here they are in a cut throat market and the competition will just spam them with shit.

That is we DO NOT EVER delete posts unless:
1) It is SPAM
2) It involves piracy

Other than that, if something gets out of control we may move the post to "off topics". But that is worst case.

So feel free to post user reviews. They will never be deleted. However it is my discression to look at a review that is a RANT and not really a review. If that happens (which would be RARE), it would get moved to off topics as a personal rant rather than an informative review, good or bad!

I think we should use it as I believe Bob wants. (Bob can correct me there): “A place where we can help each other with valid information and ideas”. I also think that Bob is honest, straight forward, not personal, and a great help and programmer for all of us.
Unless Bob is the owner of Geekbuying (LOL). Have some humor!

I only placed the info because I have seen that GB sometimes writes in this forum and I do want their response to see how serious they really are!

A company with a web site like GB has, with all the advertising they have and is registered via godaddy.com in Los Angeles, California 90034, cannot be a small or one man company who is bicycling around in China to help us . But maybe they try to help.

When “pe1dnn” dreams about Geekbuying being a very poor one man company and feel sorry for them, I think “pe1dnn” is getting off the subject. Use FACTS.

I only wanted to point out there could be a multitude of reasons why reviews do not show up, don't always assume bad intent when in fact you do not know the reasons. Granted, it being a one man shop might be far fetched although you never know who is behind a website either; it doesn't have the be the colossal huge firm they appear to be. Welcome to the Internet.

By putting a lock on the topic I just wanted to indicate that in my opinion more than enough has been said about this topic, and remember I put a in it to give you a hint. Anyway, I will move on to more interesting topics, there is a lot of interesting stuff on this site to read!

(By the way, "pe1dnn" is nothing strange, just an amateur radio (aka HAM) call sign. No need to put it in quotation marks. And I never dream about Geekbuying).
